Give Talk and
Show Film Sunday
A missionary program featur
ing a 40 minute motion picture
recently filmed in India con
cerning the conversion of a
Brahman, with a report about
the current Indian affairs, will
be given, at the Medford Assem
bly of God church, 1108 West
Main, Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The Rev. and Mrs. John
Wright, missionaries appointed
to India, will take part in the
service, presenting musical num
bers and data concerning India.
The Wrights will be teaching
the next five years at Bangalore
in a national seminary operated
by the National Assemblies of
God in India. Mr. Wright has
taught public school the past
three years in the Sacramento
area of California, formerly be
ing associated with the Monte
Vista Christian school at Watson
ville, Calif. Prior to this they
were active in church work, in
Iowa, Oregon and northern
California, Mr. Wright having
received his ministerial training
at Southern California Bible
college, Costa Mesa, and Glad
Tidings Bible institute, San
Francisco.
Mr. Wright took his teachers'
training, graduating from Sierra
college and Sacramento State
college, receiving California
State Teaching credentials. After
study at the San Francisco
Academy of Aeronautics and
training in handling aircraft, he
received a private pilot's license.
Mrs. Wright studied at North
Central Bible institute and did
evangelistic work in the west
central district of the United
States.
During the next few weeks
the Wrights will be speaking by
invitation in churches and to
community groups in this area.
They hope to arrive in India in
1956 to begin teaching duties.

Youth from the Christian
Church of the Northwest will
meet at the Portland Central
Christian church Aug. 27 and
28 for the annual Northwest
Youth Rally. This rally is spon
sored by the young people of
the Central Christian church.
The session will feature dis
cussion panels which will be
conducted by business men and
representatives of the three Pa
cific Coast Bible colleges.

Klamath Falls will be attending

Friends at Newberg, Ore., which
started yesterday. Those attend

tor of the Christian Register,

publication in United States and
Canada.

Gold Hill WSCS Has
Guest Speaker for
Friday Meeting

spoke of her week at Camp Mag
ruder at the Womans Society of
Christian service last Friday
afternoon at the Methodist
church. Miss Gail was one of
four young women who attended
the 13th annual School of Mis-'
sions from the Eugene district
of the Methodist WSCS.
Mrs. Melvin Burnett served
refreshments during which time
the group sat informally around
the table and learned from Miss
Gail how interesting and alive
a week at a mission school can
be.
After reviewing the week for
those present , questions were
asked and answered. A variety
of leaflets were distributed
which discribed the many phases
of work the WSCS does around
the world. It was noted that in
Belgian Congo the word for the
name of the society was "Kip
endano," which means "The
great love for one another."
Devotionals were led by Mrs.
Fred Jones. The theme for the
meeting was "How Great is the
Kingdom."

Young people who attended
the Advent Christian Youth camp
at Troutdale, Ore., have return
ed home. Local young people
who attended the camp held
with the Annual Campmeeting of
the churches of the Conferene,
were Marjorie Potter, Jim Clark,

Potter.

field, 111,, where she will rep
resent the youth of southern Ore
gon at the bi-annual Interna
tional Youth convention of the
Church of God.
Miss McCullough, who has
been chosen to be hostess at one
of the conferences, will attend
the four-day meeting from Aug.
23 to 26. The convention theme
is, "One Lord, One Faith, One
Task."
She will be accompanied by
her father, Glenn McCullough,
to Illinois. This is the second
convention for Miss McCullough
as she attended the one in Port
land two years ago.

day in their newly purchased
church at Tenth and Ivy sts. in
Medford. Mr. Seely, president
of the southern Oregon district,
will speak at 11 a.m.

the opening service. Immediate
ly following the morning service
a potluck dinner will be held,
sponsored by the Re-La-Da-Sa
Women's group of Medford.

Kantors To Speak At First Baptist
All Sunday school departments
of the First Baptist church will
hear of the missionary work of
the Rev. and Mrs. Al Kantor,
who work with migrant laborers
in California under the Gospel
Missionary fellowship Sunday.
Mr. Kantor will have a por
tion of the opening worship in
the pre-school and primary
groups, while Mrs. Kantor will
speak to the rest of the Sunday
school in a combined worship
service at 8:45.
The Kantors will also have
part in other services of the day.
They will speak to the combined
Baptist Youth Leagues at 6:30
p.m., and have charge of the
evening service at 7;45, showing
colored slides of the work in
which they are engaged.
The missionary couple and
their three children are sup
ported in part by the Medford
church. Mrs. Kantor, the for
mer Miss Jean French, attended
Medford schools and was a mem
ber of the local Baptist church.
The public is welcome to attend.
