The wedding is set for Satur
day, August 25, at Sacred Heart
Catholic church at three o'clock
in the afternoon.
Both Miss Neathamer and her
fiance have completed their
sophomore years at Oregon
State college. Mr. Francis is a
member of Delta Chi fraternity,
and plays football on the college
team. He attended school in
Honolulu before coming to Ore
gon. Miss Neathamer was grad
uated from Medford High schdol
with the class of 1954.

Family Returns
From Vacation
Dr. and Mrs. Paul Dix and
daughter, Kathleen, have return
ed to their home at 137 Ash
land avenue after a vacation
trip to the mid-west. In Chicago
they were guests of Dr. Dix'
mother, Mrs. A. J. Peterson, and
Mr. Peterson. Later they stop
ped in Minneapolis to spend
some time with Dr. Dix' father,
Paul B. Dix, and also a sister.
In Long Prairie, Minn., the
Medford couple visited Mrs. Dix'
parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Cus
ter? The travelers also made
stops in towns and cities in the
Dakotas and Montana.
Convention Reports
To Be Heard by Lodge
Olive Rebekah lodge will
meet Monday at 8 p.m. at the
Odd Fellows hall, 221 West
Sixth street. Reports will be
given by those who attended
the district convention at Glen
dale. Mrs. J. D. Brummond,
noble grand, will preside.
Meetings will be held by the
lodge during July and August.
Refreshments will be served

In Rites at
Eagle Point
Eagle Point Miss Corinna
Lee Rodgers became the bride
of Norman Alvin Butts in a
ceremony held June 8 at 8:30
p.m. at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rod
gers of Eagle Point. The Rev.
Allan Hill officiated at the
double ring ceremony. The altar
was decorated with candelabra
and tall baskets of flowers.
Mr. Butts is the son of Ran
dolf Don Butts, 1380 Spring
brook road, Medford.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a ballerina
length light blue taffeta gown
accented with netted lace and
tiny pink rosebuds. Her should
er length veil was also light
blue. She carried white carna
tions on a white Bible.
Maid of honor was Miss Sally
Rodgers, sister of the bride, who
wore pink and, carried match
ing carnations. Best man was
Larry Rodgers. Miss Judy Stuart
played special music.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held at the Rodgers
home. The four tiered wedding
cake, baked by Mrs. Alyce Veach
of Eagle Point, was served by
Mrs. Lawrence Messal. Assist
ing with the serving were Mrs.
Myrtle Shield, aunt of the bride,
and Mrs. Rodgers. The coffee
was poured by Mrs. Harvey Nel
son. Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Nelson
was in charge of the guest book
while Miss Lucy Gardener was
at the gift table.
Mrs. Rodgers chose for her
daughter's wedding a brown
beige suit and matching acces
sories with floral accent of yel
low roses.
Out of town guests included
Mrs. Myrtle Shields from Idaho:
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Graham and
daughter from Crescent City;
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith, Med
ford; and Mr. and Mrs. Randolf
Butts and family, Medford.
For her traveling attire the
bride wore a blue linen suit. The
couple are now at home at 211
Vancouver avenue, Medford, af
ter a trip to the Oregon Caves.
The bride is a graduate of
Eagle Point High school where
she was valedictorian this year.
Mr. Butts attended California
schools.
Sojourners Plan
Party at Edens
Among the coming week's
social events will be a garden
party for members and prospec
tive members of Sojourner's
club. It will be held at the home
of Mrs. O. A. Eden, 211 Genes
see street, Thursday, August 9,
at 12:30 o'clock. Refreshments
will be served and cards will be
played during the afternoon.
Hostesses for the party will be
Mrs. Don Carlon, Mrs. A. B.
Davis and Mrs. William Jenson.
Anyone planning to attend

On Vacation Trip
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Latham
and daughters, Lynn Ann and
Julie, 815 Park street, left yes
terday for a motor trip to Vic
toria and Vancouver, B.C. The
family will travel by way of
Portland, Olympia and . Hood
canal in Washington and plan
to ferry from Port Angeles to
Victoria. Several days ago the
Lathams spent a few days vaca
tioning on the Oregon coast and
made a boat trip from Gold
Beach up the Rogue river to
Agness.

Traveler Returns
Mrs. Fred Rankin has return
ed to her home on Groveland
avenue after spending several
weeks in the mid-west. Mrs.
Rankin traveled and visited in
12 states. Returning home she
motored through the Great Lakes
area. Minnesota and the Black
Hills, and also spent some time
in Glacier National park and
Lake Louise and Banff in Cana

and three children are spending
a week in San Francisco. Mr.

nual gift show in the Bay city

wedding of Miss Phyllis Joyce
Parmley to George C. Lanway
of Coos Bay, Ore. The bride is
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Or
ville C. Parmley, who left Med
ford two years ago to live in
Portland, and the bridegroom is
a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Lan
way, Coos Bay.
The wedding took place July
7 at three o'clock in Montavilla
Methodist church, Portland, with
the Rev. Ernest Wilson officiat
ing for the double-ring ceremony.
The bride was attended by
Miss Elaine Williams, Medford as
maid-of-honor. She wore a pink
ballerina gown of crystallette
and carried white daisies.
Bridesmaids were Miss Johann
Epley of Aloha, Ore., and Miss
Norene Baumgartner of Port
land. Miss Carol Ann Sullivan,
Coos Bay, junior attendant and
her sister, Cathey Sullivan, flow
er girl, are cousins of the bride
groom. The three attendants
wore aquamarine ballerina type
crystallette frocks and carried
white daisies.
The bride's gown was of white
embossed lace over net and taf
feta and was ballerina length.
A sweetheart cap of tulle and
seed pearls held her , finger-tip
length veil. Her flowers were
white carnations and white
stephanotis centered with an
orchid.
Ushers were James Greig,
Harry Thomas and Charles Mac
Millan, all Coos Bay, Walter
Schall, Coos Bay, was best man.
A reception followed the cere
mony at the church.
The newlyweds are living at
920 South Fourth street in Coos
Bay. i

ford yesterday to attend the wed
ding of the honor attendant, Miss
Williams, to Vernon Tenney.

Plan Fall Rites
An event of mid-September
will be the wedding of Miss
Shirley Boitano to Eugene Gam
bee of Portland. Miss Boitano is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
A. Bointano, 1710 East Main
street, and Mr. Gambee is a son
of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Gambee
of Portland.
The ceremony will take place
September 15 at Sacred Heart
Catholic church here.
Miss Boitano, who has been
traveling in Europe for the past
several weeks, will return to
Oregon August 20. Both Miss
Boitano and her fiance attended
Seattle university last year, and
Mr. Gambee will continue his
studies there in the fall.

Knotts officiated at the 5 p.m.

First Methodist church before

Miss Arnold is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Landis J. Ar
nold of Greeley, Colo. Mr. Pil
geram is the son of Mrs. Hazel
D. Pilgeram, Belt, Mont., and
W. P. Pilgeram of Helena.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a ballerina
length dress of white tulle. She
wore an elbow length veil and
carried white carnations and
rose lilies.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Homer Siewert of Oakland,
Calif. Her dress was of light
blue dotted Swiss in ballerina
length. She carried white gladio
lus and white carnations.
Homer Siewert served as best
man. Walter Byrd and' Frank
Davis ushered.

Lake they will make their home
in Box Elder, Mont.
The bride is a graduate of Al
buquerque, N.M., High school
and attended George Washing
ton university in Washington,
D.C., and Pacific School of Reli
gion at Berkeley, Calif. She was
employed at the First Method
ist church in Ashland as direc
tor of Christian education.
Mr. Pilgeram attended Mon
tana State college and is a range
conservationist at the Rocky
Boy agency for the Bureau of
Indian Affairs.
