Supper Parties
Given Recently
Summer in the Rogue valley is
a popular time for entertaining,
and many parties have been

Last evening Mr. and Mrs.
Gain Robinson and Mrs. Sprague j

supper party. The event was a
garden party at Mrs. Reel's '
home, Eden Valley orchard, and'
about 50 guests attended.
Last Sunday evening Mr. and

hosts for a cocktail supper party
held at the Colony club. A larse
group was invited for the party.

The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a white silk
lace gown with tulle overskirt
of satin. Her veil of tulle fell
from a white bandeau. She car
ried a bouquet of white carna
tions surrounding an orchid.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
James Milhoan. a cousin of the
bride. She wore a vellow bal
lerina length gown with an
overskirt of tulle. Mrs. Warren
Kimmons of Grants Pass was
bridesmatron. Her dress was
ballerina length of blue taffeta
with an overskirt of tulle. Their
bouquets were white daisies.
Best man was Carl Mark III.

represent the titles of books.
Prizes were awarded for guess
ing the book titles and for the
best costumes. Mrs. Justin Smith
and Richard W. Gray won prizes
for recognizing the greatest num
ber of titles. Dr. B. L. Lageson
and Mrs. Glenn L. Jackson were
awarded prizes for the most
original costumes, and Mrs.
Maurice Spatz and Otto Frohn
mayer won prizes for the best
costumes.
Mrs. Raymond Miksche was
awarded an impromptu prize for
the most exotic costume, and Dr.
and Mrs. Edwin R. Durno won
the couple's prize

The wedding of Miss Bragg,
daughter of Lawrence D. Bragg,
to Thomas H. Spatz, Medford,
is set for August 4 at Sacred
Heart Catholic church. Miss
Collins, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. Collins, is to be mar
ried August 19 to Kent W. Bon
ney, Grants Pass, with the cere
mony to be held at First Pres
byterian church.

Announced Sunday
Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Trow
bridge. 1R25 East Main street,
have announced the engagement
of I'irir daughter. Tanya, to
James Paul Shoemaker, son of
Col. and Mrs. Paul S. Shoe
maker. Colonel Shoemaker is
presently assigned to the United
States Mission in Costa Rica.
The news was announced dur
ing a cocktail party given by
the Trowbridacs Sunday. July
'22. al their home. A November
wedding is planned by the
couple.
Miss Trowbridge, a graduate
of Medford High school, has been
a student at Arizona State uni
versity at Tempe. Ariz. Mr. Shoe
maker is a graduate of the same
school and is a member of Alpha
Tau Omega fraternity. He has
been commissioned in the United
States Army Reserve and will re
port later this year for duty at
Ft. Sill in Oklahoma.
