tion districts during the year
ending June 30 increased 2,581
cars according to the stats de
partment of agriculture.
The Medford area, the state's
leading pear district, showed an
increase of 2.809 cars, while the
Hood River district showed a de
cline of 392 cars.
Inspections were made on 5,-
815 cars of pears during the
year, compared to 3.234 the pre
vious year, department officials
' said.
Prunes showed the largest in-
crease in inspections last year
I with 1,119 cars inspected, corn
spared to 82 the previous year.
A total ol 33.084 cars of fruit,
vegetables and nuts were in
spected at the eight shipping
points during the 1955-56 ship
ping year, department officials
said.
