Selling Techniques ,
jSame in Classroom
I Lubbock. Tex. tU.P Dr.
! Ernest Tiemann told a classroom
j workshop meeting that it's time
eaucators realized that tech
niques used by business and in
dustry to sell are the same tech
niques needed to put over a point
in a classroom.
j Schools are years behind busi
ness in using pictures and sound
'in their presentations, said Dr.
I Tiemann. a University of Texas
faculty member.
! Such techniques may not be
j "traditional." but research has
j shown they are more effective
I because they appeal more to an
1 individual's senses of sight and
. hearing. Dr. Tiemann said.
; He put part of the blame for
the economic light of the teach-!
ing profession on the educators
because they have not been will
ing to use modern techniques in
presenting their points to their
supporting public.
Dr. Tiemann is a national lead
