The dime was not an old one

Sue used the paperweight for

seemed just the same as always
except for one thing. This time
Sue noticed a tiny S near the
wreath on the reverse.

200 Fight Forest
Fire in Klamath
Yreka A crew of 200 jet
fighters battled Thursday to ex
tinguish a forest fire about one
mile up the Klamath river from
the mouth of Scott river. It
has already burned 120 acres of
timber.
Klamath national forest offic
ials said that four dozers, four
tankers and a helicopter had been
sent into the area, and expressed
belief the fire would be brought
under control Friday.
The forestry official said that
the fire was believed to have
started after a tree was blown
against a power line. First re
ports on the fire were received
by the forest service late Wed
nesday. Two other small fires were
extinguished Wednesday in the
Happy Camp area, according to
Klamath officials.
One of the fires, believed to
have been started by a careless
smoker, was controlled immed
iately, while a second, started by
lightning, was put out by four
smoke-jumpers who were drop
ped into the area.
