The twins had been joined by;

severed, it was found that there
was, a slight connection in the
spinal channel. The connection,
however, did not impede the
surgery.
Dr. Thomas O'Connell. who
headed the surgeons, said X-rays
had disclosed the infants had
separate circulations and their
hearts beat at different rates, in
dicating they did not have a com
mon nervous system.

school district 01 that it has been
awarded a tentative entitlement
of SI. 762. 22 by the office of edu
cation of the department of
health, education and welfare
under public law 874.
The district was certified for
an immediate payment of Sl,
585.00. A treasury check for that
amount has been sent to the dis
trict. The funds are distributed to
school districts under the pro
gram to provide financial assist
ance for schools in federally-affected
areas.
