Three People Hurt
in Car Accidents
Three people were reported
in "good'' condition Saturday
morning at Sacred Heart hospi
tal, where they were taken by

dents Friday.
Kenneth Larry Thompson, 5,
of 1133 Spring St., received a
broken left leg and head injur
ies at 2:35 p.m., when he was
struck by a car on Spring st.

Hurt in Collision
Edward Wynkauf, 34, of 33
South Front St., received a frac
tured right arm, head lacera
tions and a possible spine injury
at 10:12 p.m., when the car in
'which he was riding collided
with another on Highway 99 in
front of Kim's restaurant.
Chester McDonough, 62, route
1, box 24, Jacksonville, receiv
ed chest injuries in the same ac
cident. McDonough's wife, Va-
lere, was released from the hos
pital following treatment for a
cut left elbow.
State police said the Thomp
son boy was struck by a vehicle
operated by Bennie Dale Kin
ney, 21, route 2, box 69, Med
ford. According to the report,
Thompson told officers he was
traveling west on Spring st. at
about 35 miles per hour, when
the child apparently ran into the
street and hit the side of his
car. He said he applied the
brakes and the car skidded side
wavs, hit a bank and overturn

The boy was knocked to the
side of the road. Officers said
Kinney claimed he did not see
the boy, who was on the other
side of a string of eastbound
cars. Kinney was not injured
and no citation was issued.

was injured, operated by Rob
ert Welling Rock, 25, of 941
South Holly st., was reportedly
traveling north on the inside
lane of Highway 99, when the
vehicle operated by McDonough
entered the highway from the
driveway at Kim's restaurant.
Officers said Rock saw the oth
er car, applied the brakes and
his car skidded 70 feet before
turning sideways and colliding
with McDonough's vehicle in
the center of the highway.
Pinned Under Car
The impact apparently knock
ed Rock's car 37 feet and Mc
Donough's car 40 feet. Rock's
vehicle came to rest on its side
on the south side of the high
way and McDonough's car was
facing east with the rear wheels
on the highway edge. Wynkauf
was partially pinned under
Rock's car. No citations were is
sued. No injuries were reported and
no citations were issued after
two trucks collided at 8:52 p.m.

the office received a number of I
calls inquiring- about the status I
of the salesmen.

tered Saturday with the Cham
ber. However, at least one
housewife complained of the at
titude and manners of a solici
tor, and indicated he apparent
ly is trying to create the im
pression he is a local high
school boy. Others say solicitors
imply they are working to earn
''savings bonds," although the

are simply working for the
money obtained from subscrip

Sale of United States series
E and H savings bonds for June
in Jackson county were $118,
356, compared to S85.165 in
1955, according to Morris Leon
ard, chairman of the county
savings bonds committee.
Sale of bonds through June
30, were S640,169, compared to
S603.469 through June 30, 1955,
Leonard said.
Leonard added that total sales
of E and H bonds in Oregon in
June of this year totaled $3,316
693, an increase of 7.4 per cent
more than June, 1955.

at 8 p.m.
The regional finals here are
sponsored by the Crater Lions.

auditorium door from 7 p.m.

ents 50 cents, and children un

with other regional top acts
from around the state in Port
land on KPTV's "Mr. Talent
Show." Awards to be presented
