NOW, THEREFORE. I. Elmo Smith,
Governor of the State of Oregon, by
virtue of the authority vested in me
under the provisions of Section
177.158, Oregon Forest Laws. 1954, do
hereby proclaim the unregulated use
of the above-described areas to be
unlawful and that said area shall be
subject to entrv onlv through permit
to be Issued by the State Forester, or
a fire warden, under which permit
entrant shall comply with any and
all of the following requirements:
(1) To refrain from smoking except
in places designated as safe in
said permit.
(2) To build no open fires except
in places designated as safe in
said permit.
(3) To have as a part of his or her
equipment when using camp
fires, excepting when traveling
as a pedestrian and or camping
at improved, designated and
posted campgrounds, tools as
specified by the forester suitable
for extinguishing fires.
This proclamatoin shall be effective
from and after the 8th day of July,
1956, and shall remain in full force
and effect until the 31st day of De
cember, 1956.

TRUNK AND LATERAL SANITARY
SEWERS
Notice is hereby given that the
City of Phoenix will receive sealed
bids up to 7:30 P.M. Mondav, July
30th, 1956. at the City Hall. Phoenix,
Oregon, for furnishing all materials
and construction of a sanitary trunk
and lateral sewer system, complete
in operating condition. Proposals will
be publicly opened and read aloud.
Proposals shall be in accordance
with the Plans, Specifications and
Contract documents nowon file with
the Consulting Engineers A. D. Har
vey and S. C. Watkins, Room 12 Goldy
Building, Medford, Oregon, or at the
City Recorder's office, Phoenix. Ore
gon. Copies of plans and specifica
tions may be obtained from the en
gineers upon furnishing a deposit of
$25. 00 for each set. Such deposits will
be returned to contractors actually
submitting bids upon the return of
the plans and specifications to the
engineers in good order within five
(5 days after filing of bids. A charge
of $10.00 to cover cost of reproduction
will be made in the event planholder
does not file a bid.
The estimated quantity of main
items in the bid are as follows:

Treasurer of the City of Phoenix in
the amount of five per cent (5) of
the total of the bid or a bidder's bond,
executed by a bonding company au
thorized to do business in the State
of Oregon in the same amount as an
evidence of good faith and intention
of the bidder to enter into the contract
for the work should it be awarded
to him shall be submitted with each
proposal. Performance bond in amount
of 100 of the contract price will be
required.
The City of Phoenix reserves the
right to reject any and all proposals
and to accept such proposal as may be
deemed in the best interest of the
City. No bidder may withdraw his
bid after the hour set for the opening
thereof unless the award of contract
is delayed for a period of thirty (30)
days thereafter.
