To Be Delegate
Miss Lois Kelley will be one
of 29 Oregon delegates to the
1956 national convention of Fu
ture Homemakers of America
The convention will be held
July 2-6 at the Conrad Hilton
hotel in Chicago, 111. Miss Kelley
is being partially sponsored by
the Griffin Creek Grange.
Miss Kelley, 16, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Orval P. Kelley,
1629 Thomas road, is a senior at
Medford Senior High school. She
has participated in FHA activi
ties since 1953 and is now the
state parliamentarian.
Convention sessions will be
geared to helping FHAers recog
nize opportunities and accept re
sponsibilities related to improv
ing home, school, and commu
nity life, the delegate states.
Other activities during the five
day gathering include election
of 1956-57 national officers and
voting on national projects.
About 2,000 FHA members have
been chosen to attend the meet
ing. FHA is the national organiza
tion of pupils studying home
making in junior and senior high
schools in the U.S. and territor
ies. Membership is voluntary.
National membership totals
nearly 500,000. The main goal of
FHA is "to learn to live better
today in order that the home
making pupils' lives and those

Harvey Harper
Family Reunion
Held on Sunday
The Harvey Harper family
held a reunion June 24 at the
Ernest Gleason home, with 62
attending. This is the first time
in 22 years that all 11 of Mr.
Harper's children have been to
gether. The last gathering was
also at the Gleason home, at
that time near Norton, Kan.
Mr. Harper's children are
Marion Harper, Norton, Kan.;
Mrs. Don Lamb, Holbrook, Neb.;
Mrs. Harold B. Nelson, Alder
wood Manor, Wash.; Vernon
Harper, Turlock, Calif.; Mrs. Er

Mrs. Gleason, Arthur Harper,
Virgil Harper, Mrs. Roy Hoover
Sr., Mrs. George Eppinger, and
Loyal Harper, all of Medford.

Mrs. Harry R. Morris of 160 Cen
tral ave., Ashland, and James
Louis Reimers, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest L. Reimers of San
Leandro, were married Sunday,
June 24 at 3 p.m. in the First
Presbyterian church in Ashland.
The Rev. B. J. Holland officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
The bride wore a dress of
white nylon tulle styled with a
fitted bodice and shirt of tiny
ruffles. The bodice was accent
ed with pearls as was her Juliet
cap. She carried a bouquet of
stephanotis with a single white
orchid.
Attending the bride as maid
of honor was her sister, Miss
Gayle Morris. She wore a coral
chiifon dress with a white flow
er headpiece and white daisy
bouquet. Her shoes were of
matching coral.
The four additional attendants
wore dresses of aquamarine ny
lon chiffon with matching
pumps. They wore white flow
ers in their hair and carried
white daisies. They were Mrs.
Carl Maxey of Spokane, Wash.,
Mrs. William Elam of Living
ston, Calif., Mrs. Elwood B. Hed
berg and Mrs. Fred M. Gardner,
both of Medford.
Miss Sharon Ann Morris, Ash
land, niece of the bride, was
flower girl. She wore a dress of
light yellow net and carried a
basket of flowers.
Earl R. Reimers came from
Palmdale, Calif., to be his bro
ther's best man. Gene Morris,

Calif., M. E. Roberson, and Lee

Mrs. Lee Bennett. Presiding at
the punch bowls were Mrs. Dave
McAullife of Redding, Calif.,
and Mrs. Maxine Caldwell, Ash
land, aunts of the bride, Mrs
Ralph Koozer, and Mrs. Phil
Stansbury of Ashland. Mrs. Joe
Jessel was in charge of the guest
book.
For her traveling attire the
bride chose a dress of yellow
silk, white linen coat, with yel
low accessories. The newlyweds

Rites in Eugene

Linquist traveled to Eugene
June 10 to assist with the recep-
tion which followed the wedding
of Miss Carol Marie Wildish to
Robert M. Dick. The rites took
place at Trinity Methodist
church, with 150 guests attend
ing.
The bride, who attended South
ern Oregon college the past two
years, is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. L. A. Wildish of Eugene
and the bridegroom is a son of
Mrs. Laura Ahlgren in Redding,
Calif. The newlyweds are to be
at home in Redding after July 1.
The bride, whose father gave
her in marriage, wore a gown
of white faille with coronet of
seed pearls holding her veil, and
carried a white orchid on a white
Bible. She was attended by her
sister, Miss JoAnn Wildish, who
wore a frock of pastel green cot
ton satin and carried daisies.
The reception was held in the
church parlor. Miss Wood, room
mate of the bride at Southern
Oregon college, served punch.
Miss Ream and Miss Linquist as
sisted at the reception table. Mrs.
T. C. Wildish, grandmother of
the bride, cut the wedding cake,

Oklahomans Plan
Picnic oh Sunday
The annual Oklahoma picnic
will be held Sunday, July 8, at
Caveman's park in Grants, Pass.
All former Oklahomans are in
vited to attend and are to take
their own table service and cov
ered dishes for a family-style
picnic. Barbecued meat, coffee
and iced punch will be served at
the picnic.
Various entertainment will be
provided throughout the day. All
musicians and entertainers are
invited to participate in the ac
tivities. There will be a fiddler's
contest, egg throwing contest,
sack races as well as prizes for
the largest family present, oldest
person present, and others.

in Eugene, and two weddings.
The weddings, both held in Port
land, were for a niece, Miss Phyl
iss Geller, and a nephew, Floyd
Geller, of Forest Grove.
Mrs. Gier, who represented
her husband at the convention,
celebrated her birthday while
there and was honored by the
OSPA and the auxiliary at one
of the banquets.
