or lumber firm wishing to do
nate money for prizes in the
impending porcupine eradication
contest should call either Eugene
Peterson or Lester DeArmond
Peterson and DeArmond are
the prize committee of the Ki-
wanis club which is sponsoring
the contest with the Jackson
County Chamber of Commerce
Peterson said yesterday that
word has been sent to several
firms about sponsoring prizes
and several replies have been
received. Any interested com
pany which has not been con
tacted, he said, should get in
touch with one of the two committeemen.

The contest opens July 1. All
youths residing in Jackson' coun-1
ty between 12 and 18 years of
age are eligible. Prizes will be !
awarded at the end of every
quarter of the year and grand
prizes at the end of the year on
the basis of number of porcu
pine bounty receipts participants
hold. I
The county clerk gives the i
receipts plus a SI bounty for
each porcupine "nose" brought
to the courthouse office. All con-'
testants must have receipts re
corded at the Chamber of Com
merce office, 328 South Central
ave., and must abide by state 1
and federal forestry regulations. I
Wool Incentive Price
Is 62 Cents Pound
The incentive price level for ;
wool sold in the 1958 market-;
ing year is 62 cents per pound !
for shorn wool, according to
Harry E. Martin, manager of the i
Jackson county agricultural sta-
bilization committee office.
The average price for shorn i
wool is 42.8 cents per pound
with 82.8 cents per pound for
mohair according to the depart
ment of agriculture marketing
service.
AMS has announced that in
centive payments would be made
in July.
The wool incentive program is
in affect in Jackson county the
same as last year for lambs.

club held a meeting June 24 at
the home of Diana and Arthur
Gardener on Yankee Creek rd.
After a picnic lunch we had our
meeting. We made plans for our
overnight campout at Klamath
river. June 29. e will meet
at the homo of Karen and Fred
Jossey at 11 a.m. After our meet
ing we went swimming and
water skiing at Gardener's lake.
