dent Eisenhower spent another
comfortable night at Walter
Reed hospital, sleeping "much
better" since the deep wire
stitches were removed from his
surzical scar.
The 8:05 a.m. (EDT) medical
bulletin issued at Walter Reed
hospi'.al said:
' "The President had another
comfortable night. He slept al
most continuously for nine hours.
"His temperature is 93.2, pulse
73, blood pressure is 112-68, and
respiration, 18, all of which arc
normal. He is holding his pre
viously announced weight.
"His condition continues to
progress very satisfactorily. His
morale and his spirits are high."
The wire stitches were remov
ed Sunday. Since then Mr. Eis
enhower has been sleeping long
er and belter, White House press
Secretary James C. Hagerty said.
Tuesday night was the third
mint in a row the President slept
almost continuously for nine
hours.
The President is getting in
shape to "walk out" of the hos
pital this week end by eating a
steak twice a day and walking
.as much as he likes in his hos
pital ward.
Besides walking from his bed
to a chair for his three meals
each day, Hagerty said the Pres
ident also takes other walks into
the living room and sun porch
off his bedroom.
Hagerty has said the chief
executive will "walk out" of
the hospital sometime between
now and the .week end.

his personal secretary, Mrs.
Gladys Irene Owens, will be
married here Sunday, according
to friends of the couple.
The wedding date was reveal
ed Tuesday within a few hours
after Mrs. Romale Roosevelt ob
tained a final divorce decree
from the eldest son of the late
President. Mrs. Roosevelt had
petitioned for the final decree
Monday after she was awarded
an uncontested divorce last year.
The United Press revealed ex
clusively May 18 that the lanky
Democrat planned to marry his
secretary. The ceremony will
take place at the home of his
episcopal pastor The Rev. George
Lyon Pratt. .
Mrs. Owens originally was
named as a correspondent by
.Mrs. Roosevelt in a divorce complaint.

show and a chance at the $64,-
000 question. He answered ques

James H. Young, 33. a rail
road brakeman from Duluth,
Minn., flunked a "European his
tory" quiz worth $16,000 and
was awarded a 1956 Cadillac
convertible as a consolation
prize. They appeared on the
CBS-TV show. "The $64,000
Question."

up half a jail Tuesday. The ex
plosives were hidden by a gang
