view of his health. But he said
he does not know what the pres
ident's decision will be.
Neuberger said on ABC's
"College Press Conference" tele
vision program that the presi
dent's health, rather than "po
litical considerations." should be
the first factor in determining
whether he should seek a second
He said that if the president
does make the race, his health
automatically will be an issue
without being made one" by
the Democratic candidate. He
added that Mr. Eisenhower's
health will be "in the people's

City Crews to Sfart
Work on Roxy Ann
City crews will begin work cn
roadside ditching and additional
culverts sometime this summer
on Roxy Ann rd., according to
Robert Duff, city manager.
Work has alread been started
on replacing cattle guards on
Roxy Ann rd.. Duff said.
Installation of traffic counters
to check the number of visitors
to Prescott park will begin some
time in the next two weeks, he
added.

in the county clerk's office be
tween January 1 and May 31,
records show.
Divorces recorded during the
same period totaled 98. Records
indicate a total of 103 children

tion that he was resigning to
accept a call from Our Savior's
church in Malwaukee, Wis.
At the new church. The Rev.
Nelson will be senior pastor to
a congregation of 4,400 with two
junior pastors to assist him.

Hood River (U.R) A 10-
year-old Portland girl drowned
Sunday when she tumbled
down a rain slickened bank into
the south fork of Hood River
about 17 miles southwest of the
town of Hood River.
Dead was Donna Bacon,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy
Bacon. Sheriff Rupert Gill
mouthe reported that the little
girl was with her father and a
cousin who were fishing along
the stream.
The last time she was seen
was when she left to follow the
cousin, Kenneth Christensen, Ti
gard, upstream.
The death was the third child
drowning in Hood River in the
past month. A young girl
drowned in the stream May 13
and a boy lost his life in the
river May 20.

Plane Wreckage

Wreckage of a private plane,
missing since Friday with five I
persons aboard, has been located
in a mountainous area near j
here and first reports said ;
there were "no indications of i
survivors."
The plane, piloted by Capt.
Elbert G. Head of the Alaskan
Air Command headquarters
here, had last been heard from
Friday morning. Head had re
portedly purchased the Howard
Air Craft in Washington, D.C., I
and was believed en route here ;
from Dallas, Tex. The plane was
reported to have left Dallas

The four passengers aboard
were identified as Mrs. J. C. j
Head, the captain's mother;

must march "shoulder to shoul
der" with the Soviet Union to

Tito made his remarks as he
stood alongside Soviet Commun
ist party chief Nikita Khrush
chev in 102 - degree heat at Stal
ingrad's lavishly decorated sta
tion. Radio Moscow said Tito
was cheered and applauded by
"hundreds of thousands" of Stal
ingrad citizens as he continued
his good will tour of Russia.
"I wish you, dear Comrades,"
Tito said, "many successes in
your constructive and creative
work to achieve an even better
life and for the victory of Com
munism throughout the Soviet
union.
"In peace as in war, Yugoslav-;
ia must march shoulder to
shoulder with the Soviet People
towards the same goal, the goal j
