It was the third time the ex
plosion has been postponed in
the past four days.
Officials warned they are not
yet sure whether the air-drop
will even take place Friday.

other low-grade UN diplomat
declared "undesirable" by t h e
State Department, was booked
with his wife and daughter to
sail cabin class aboard the Queen
Mary at 5 p.m.
Exceeded Privileges
The State Department ordered
Moscow to recall the two for
exceeding their diplomatic priv
ileges with "particularly objec
tionable" behavior in the sail
ors' case.
The strange case started in
Juife 1954, when the Soviet tank
er Tuapse was captured by the
Chinese Nationalists off Form
osa. Nine of its crew were grant
ed political asylum by the Unit
ed State. They entered this coun
try last October to work or study
in the New York area.
Five of the sailors suddenly
decided to return home April

Pressure Exerted
The Senate internal security
subcommittee heard evidence
that persistent pressure and pos
sibly violence had been exerted
against the five by members of
the Soviet UN delegation, acting
under orders of Ambassador Ar
kady A. Sovolev.
Cunard lines said they had a
cabin-class reservation for the
Guryanov;. but nothing for the
Turkins. The U.S. mission to
the UN disclosed the Turkins'
stay was extended by chicken

Review Methods
Of Disarmament
Washington U.R) The Unit
ed States is undertaking a new
"task force" review of possible
ways to break the East-West dis
armament deadlock, administra
tion officials reported today.
The detailed disarmament re
view has the approval of Presi
dent Eisenhower. It will be di
rected by Harold E. Stassen,
presidential disarmament advi
ser, who has just returned from
seven weeks of frustrating 'dis
armament talks in London , with
the Russians.
Work on the project will be
started soon by both private and
government experts on disarm
ament subjects. These subjects
include- nuclear science, inspec
tion, missiles, steel production,
and communications.

. Stassen said following a call
on the President Tuesday that
he had been instructed "patient
ly and consistently to continue
to seek a sound agreement with
the Soviet Union and with oth
er naGons" on disarmament. He
acknowledged that the London
talks "emphasized that the exist
ing disarmament disagreements
with the Russians "continue to
be more important than areas
of agreement."
Despite the problems immedi
ately ahead, Stassen said a new
disarmament message might be
on its way soon from Soviet Pre
mier Nikolai Bulganin to Presi
dent Eisenhower. Bulganin still
owes the President a reply to
March 1 proposal for an East
West freeze on nuclear stockpiles.
