Announces
Open House
Open houne cluring National
Hospital week will be observed
at Rogue Valley Memorial hos
pital, formerly Community Hos
pital, on Wednesday, May 9. Re
freshments will be served in the
penthouse from 2 to 4:30 p.m. by
niembers of the auxiliary, under
the general chairmanship of
Mr. Sheridan W. Scott.
Anyone interested in the hos
pital is invited to attend, accord
ing to Mrs. Shelby M. Tuttle,.
president of the auxiliary. De
tailed floor plans for the new
Rogue Valley Memorial Hos
pital building will be displayed,
and Miss B. J. Larsen, adminis
trator, will be present to answer
questions concerning them.
A collection of pictures of
nurses' uniforms and caps, dat
ing back to the time of the first
World War, is being arranged
by Mrs. Walter Nelson, a sur
gery nurse at the hospital. Also
on exhibit will be "Pinkie the
Puppet," a toy being made by
members of St. Martha's Guild
Church of the Good Shepherd at
Prospect. The puppets are to be
given to children confined as
patients in the hospital.
Samples of "ditty bags" being
made by members of the Gold
Hill health unit will be shown.
These bags are designed to be
fastened to each patient's bed,
nd provide handy storage space
for personal items such as
glasses, comb, pencil and paper,
etc.
The Prospect and Gold Hill
groups are the first units which
have come into the auxiliary as
chapters from outlying areas, it
was stated today by Mrs. Tuttle.
The auxiliary by-laws provide
for the inclusion of such units
which indicate an interest in as
suming work projects, or in
sponsoring money-raising proj
ects in their own areas, for the
benefit of the auxiliary here.
Club Postpones
Meeting for May
The May - meeting of Rogue
Valley College Women's club
which was to have been held in
Ashland Saturday, May 5, has
been postponed one week to May
12. Charter members of the
group will be honored at this
meeting.
Lodge to Meet
Phoenix Phoenix Neigh
bors of Woodcraft will meet to
night at 8 p.m., at the Grange
hall. Refreshments will be served
at the close of the meeting by
Mrs. George Bourne and Mrs.
Elva Briscoe.
