Over 200 persons attended an annual Jackson County
Shrine club crab dinner Monday night at Rogue Valley Coun
try club. Western theme decorations were used including
saddles and leather trappings and bales of straw decorated
the club entrance. The appearance of "Pedro," a donkey,
strictly a "non-partisan member," added a note of gaiety.
Pictured above, left to right, are George Guldager, Eugene,
Hillah Shrine temple potentate, who came especially for the
party; Earl Newbry. Ashland, secretary of state, who came
from Salem to attend, and Frank Barnthouse, Ashland, temple
recorder. In the picture below, left to right, are Jack Walker,
L. C. Taylor, Homer Marx, Bob Taylor, (sleepy figure) and
William Schei. Bob Taylor led the donkey about during the
evening. Most of those who attended' wore western attire
and wives of club members were, issued straw hats for the
occasion. Soma husband-wife pairs wore matching outfits.
