BROWN TOPS UNDERFOOT
New York (U.R) The whole
family of browns takes over in
carpet colors for 1956, the Carpet
Institute reports. It says all
shades of beige are abundant,
with the emphasis on the rosy
tones. You'll hear terms like
sandalwood, cinnamon, wheat,
mocha, cocoa, nutria, butternut
and even mink used to describe
the various shades of browns.
Look also, the institute said,' for
increasing popularity for the
gold and copper tones.
If the failures of your past hang heavy
over you, let God wipe them off the record.
Jesus died so that the dark record of past
failures could be forgiven and blotted out.
Why not worship with us this Sunday and
see from God's record, the Bible, how your
record can be changed?

New Device Helps
Pilot: Smooth Bumps
Washington (U.PJ The U.S.
aircraft industry has developed
a new electronic device which
helps smooth out the "bumps in
the sky" for jet pilots. This elec
tronic co-pilot helps keep the
jets on their course when they
zoom through the skies at high
speeds.
Planes, official publication of
Aircr,.f- Industries Association,
says the reaction of a jet plane
pilot hitting an air bump is simi
lar to a man driving an automo
bile without shock absorbers
over a wash-board road at 80
miles per hour. The air bump,
however, is caused either by
natural air currents or other air
disturbances.
The publication points out
that at present speeds of more
than 600 miles per hour, before
the pilot could correct the roll,
pitch or yaw, his plane might be
miles off the correct flight path,
and in combat, his plane might
be rendered ineffective before
he could fire a shot.
This new electronic device?
however, automatically adjusts
the controls of the plane when
it strikes an air bump and keeps
it flying on an even keel. The
plane still rolls on the first
shock, but then smooths out
quickly, returning to level flight.
