One Man and a Tub!
A tub of soapy water, that is . . . for we're doing a lot of scrubbing. And you'll
see a lot more scrubbing and cleaning at your friendly Big Y Shopping Center
for the next couple of months. There's a little method in our madness, though
. . . for we are getting ready to present to you one of the most, modern, up-to-the-minute
shopping centers in this area. If, at times, we do inconvenience yu
in any way with obstacles such as fixtures or cleaning utensils in the aisles,
please forgive us. We will be handicapped for awhile, as all of this preparation
will have to take place while we are open for business. Let me give you a little

You'll see a lot of wet paint signs around our store as we renovate and paint
with the latest decorator's pastels. These colors were selected especially for
you, because when you step into our stores, we not only want you to feel wel
come, but we want you to feel right at home. If from time to time you pick up
a disagreeable odor from the painting, please bear with us, as this will be only

We're moving in with the latest and finest frozen food
equipment available. This will assure you the finest
selection of frozen foods. The first opportunity you
get, please contact any of your Friendly Big Y person
nel and let them know of any frozen food delicacies
that you would like us to stock for you. In addition
we will be rearranging much of the present equip
ment to make your shopping more convenient. We ask
that if we happen to inconvenience you during this
moving that you will excuse us as in the end it's all
being done to give you the most modern up-to-date
shopping center that is possible.

Third . . . now you can check out in a breeze at your Friendly Big Y
Shopping Center. Not only have we installed the Zephyr Acromatic
checkstand to speed you on your way but we have eliminated some of
the checkstand stops. Yes, now you can check out groceries, meat, pro
duce, baking and variety items through one checkstand and in addition
with checkstands located at both the south entrance and the new north
entrance you may check out at the stand nearest your car.
