Choral Eucharist Begins Services For St. Mark's

Easter services at St. Mark's
Episcopal church will begin
with the traditional sunrise
choral eucharist at 0:30 a.m..

a.m., full choral eucharist at 11
a.m. and children's Easter floral
service at 4 p.m.
At the early service St. Mark's
senior choir, under direction of
Ward Smith, and with Mrs.
Ernest G. Conrad at the console,
will sing. The service vill in
clude the best knoivr- Easter
hymns. At 9 a.m. St. Mark's
junior choir, directed by Miss
Marcia Houghton, with Mrs. R.
J. O'Sullivan at the organ, will
sing a traditional setting to the
eucharist. The Rev. Robert F.
Burger, assistant to the rector,
will preach at this service.
At 11 a.m. the senior choir
will give a second rendition of
the sunrise music, and the Rev.
George R. V. Bolster, rector of
St. Mark's, will deliver the ser
mon. The 4 p.m. children's service
will feature the traditional cere
mony of "Flowering the Cross"
and the Lenten mite box offer
ing will be presented. This serv
ice will be conducted by senior
acolytes, Jim Boyd and Tom
Morris, and a short Easter med
itation will be given by the
rector.
Potted pansy plants will be
given to every child at the con-
, elusion of this service, to which
parents and friends are invited.

Family Night Supper
At Phoenix Church
Easter observance at the Phoe
nix Presbyterian church will be
gin with a family night and cov
ered dish supper at 6 p.m. to
day. Following the supper an East
er cantata entitled, "The Day of
Resurrection," will be given by
the choir under the direction cf
Halw Loofbourrow with Mrs.
Loofbourrow at the organ.
Sunday morning, a youth
group from the church will at
tend sunrise services at Hue
ner's Butte at 5:53 a.m.
"He Is Risen Why?" will be
the Easter message of the pastor,
Rev. E. R. Volkman, at 11 a.m.
The Easter service will be
held in the newly remodeled
church sanctuary. A number of
new members will be welcomed

Special School
Program Planned
A special Sunday school pro
gram will be given Easter at
9:45 a.m. at the Medford As
sembly of God, 1108 West Main
st., by members of the begin
ner, primary and junior depart
ments of the school, according
to James Nilsen, Sunday school
superintendent.
Th" boys choir and girls
chorus will provide special East
er music.
Morning worship will be com
bined with the Sunday school
program and the Rev. E. T.
Quanabush, evangelist, will
speak on "Three Reactions to
Easter."
Dr. Quanabush will speak to
night on "The Truth Behind the
Cross". This is a special Good
Friday service and the public
is cordially invited to attend.
A sunrise service will be held
by the young people of the
church in cooperation with the
other Assemblies of God Christ's
Ambassadors throughout the
valley. Persons who wish to at
tend should meet at the Medford
Assembly at 5:30 a.m. and trans
portation will be provided to
the location of the service which
will be on a hillside northwest
