a medical patient at Sacred
Heart hospital, and Mrs." Hazel
Johnson, 402 Clark st., is there
for surgery, according to a re
port from the hospitol today.
Dog Poisoned Gladys L.
Parker, 123 Maple st., Central
Point, reported to sheriffs offi
cers Tuesday the poisoning of a
fox terrier owned by Jim Lake,
McCloud, which was lodged at
Tier home. 1
Hurt in Fall Phyllis Griggs,
15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Phillip Griggs,- 650 Highland
dr. was taken this morning to
Sacred Heart hospital as the re
sult of injuries to her chest and
back which she received as she
alighted from a school bus, at
tendants reported today.

week after, making. a plane, trip
to Hopkinsville, Ky., to visit his
father, J. W. White. En route
he visited relatives of Mrs. White
at Topeka, Kan., and at Pueblo,
Colo., with his brother. """.
Alarm False City firemen
said that a call to the Southern
Pacific railroad : depot about 9
a.m. today turned out to be a
false alarm. "Smoke" reported
coming off the roof proved to be
steam coming from a boiler vent
pipe. The firemen were sum
moned to the Robert D. Price
home, 1124 Loal sit., about 9:20
a.m. to check a smoking washing
machine. Only damage reported
was to the, motor.

arrived in Gold Hill from Cali
fornia to attend funeral services
of Naval Aviation Cadet Maur-
rise Paulson, killed several days
ago in;; a i training plane crash.
Here are his grandparents, Mrv
and Mrs. D. G. Benton, Modesto,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bryilla, an
uncle and aunt from Sonora,'
Mrs. 'Z Ethel Hammond, - great
aunt from Santa Cruz, and an
other aunt, Mrs. Harriett Ghorm
ley, Sutter Creek.

Ross, infant daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gary Ross, who died Tues
day, will be held at graveside
in Memory Gardens Memorial
park at 10 a.m. Saturday. The

Sheila Ross was born in San
Diego, Calif., Jan. 20. Besides
her parents, she is survived by
her grandparents, Mrs. .Vada
McCullough, Medford, and Mr.

Mont.
MAURISE PAULSON
Funeral services for Naval
Aviation Cadet Maurise Denis
Paulson, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry M. Paulson, Gold Hill,
who was killed in a plane acci
dent Friday, will be held in the
Church of The Nazarene, Med
ford, at 11 a.m. Saturday, The
Rev. Raymond W. Hum will
officiate. Committal will be in
the Rock Point cemetery, Gold
Hill. Conger-Morris funeral
home is in charge of arrange
ments. .
v Mr. Paulson was born in Mo
desto, Calif., March 31, 1934. He
came' to Gold Hill with his par
ents in 1935. . '
He graduated 'from the Gold
Hill High school in 1951, and
attended Southern Oregon col
lege for two years, working part
time .for the geological survey
out of the Medford office.
. He enlisted in the Naval Air
corps in Aug., 1954, and gradu
ated from Navy pre-flight school
at Pensacola, Fla. He received
his primary flight training : at
Whiting Field, Navy . auxiliary
air staton, Pensacola," Fla. He
was receiving advanced jet train
ing at ' Chase Field, Beeville,
Tex., at the time of his death.
He was making a cross country
flight from Chase field to Mof
fet field, Calif. About 8:30 p.m.
near Bakersfield, the electric
system of the plane apparently
failed at an altitude 'of about
30,000 feet. The body of Cadet
Paulson was found Sunday after
noon. Survivors include his parents,
Mr. and Mrs; Henry M. Paul
son; a brother, Elwin Paulson, a
sister, Volda Paulson, at home,
and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
D. G. Benton, Modesto, Calif.

Funeral services for Carlene
Rae Greer, infant daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Greer,
Medford, who died Wednesday,
will be held in Conger-Morris
chapel at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Rev. D. Kirkland West, of
the Firs Presbyterian church,'
will officiate. Committal will be
in Siskiyou Memorial park.
Beside the parents, survivors i
include a sister, Teresa - Lynn
Greer, at home; grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. William . Schuster,
