Ever hear of raspberry leaf
tea? jAn old fashioned idea was
that drinking of this tea by
expectant mothers eased the
pain of childbirth. Recently a
group of British physicians
decided to check the claim. A
number of expectant mothers
agreed to co-operate. No definite
decision has ; yet been reached.
However, one of the group of
physicians aforementioned has
said he feels there may be some
thing to the claim. That the
drinking of raspberry leaf ' tea
by some of the expectant moth
ers checked upon really seemed
to ease the pain and also quicken
childbirth.

Hypnotism
Note a reference to the use of
hypnotism in surgical operations
as if it were something new.
Hypnotism, was so utilized as
far back as 1842., The word hyp
notism was originated by the
British physician, Dr. James
Brade, in 1841.' He originally
termed it neurohypnotism and
later shortened it to hypnotism.

On restaurant orders of bacon

three eggs. That is the custom in
Ireland where the combining of

how can you rightfully call

Neuberger Proposes Campaign Financing
Washington (U.P.) Sen. Rich
ard L. Neuberger has proposed
that the government finance
federal election campaigns to
eliminate the "evil" influence
of large private contributions.
The Oregon Democrat made
the proposal in a bill prepared
for introduction today. He called
it "the Teddy Roosevelt bill"
because, he said, it is based on
a proposal originally advanced
by President Theodore Roosevelt
in 1907.
"The main purpose of : my
bill," he said, "is to bring about
the substitution of federal funds,
with no political strings attach
ed, for the present evil of large
campaign contributions."
He said the controversy over
the $2500 contribution offered
to Sen. Francis Case (R-S.D.) by
an oil lobbyist during the gas
bill debate has focussed atten
tion on the problem.
