These models have the famous aluminized picture tube which General
Electric pioneered and introduced in 1947 ... G.E. HAS SOLD MORE SETS
WITH ALUMINIZED TUBES THAN ALL OTHER MAKES COMBINED! . .
In this tube a special aluminum mirror coated on the inside of the glass
makes the picture up to 100 brighter. Also, a black dye in the tube face
acts as a filter to reduce haze and give clear, sharper pictures.
