ing. In order to keep from "losing
his shirt," every raiser of an
imals must become a pretty good
physician. He must know how to
protect his animals with good
hygiene, clean ground, clean
houses, good clean food, and in
jections with several anti-sera.

more and more persons who
consult doctors have imaginary
ailments, a Cleveland physician
has devised a list of ways for
doctors to distinguish the truly
ill from the neurotic patients.
Dr. Leonard L. Lovshin of the
Cleveland Clinic revealed his
methods in a recent speech to
members of the Interstate Post
graduate Medical Association of
North America at their meeting
here.
Dr. Lovshin cited these ex
amples as illustrations of neu
rotic symptoms rather than or
ganic ailments:
Female patients who dye their
hair platinum blonde or some
other color, wear dark glasses
and offer the .doctor written
symptoms.
Persons whose fingernails are
bitten, especially when -other
wise groomed; those who pluck
their eyebrows and pencil in
substitutes, and relatives who ac
company patients to the office
and answer more questions than
the patients.
Dr. Lovshin said such actions
are hints of possible mental con
flicts in their patients and should
be looked into if a thorough ex
amination fails to show any or
ganic difficulties.

Abacus Cuts Down
On Army Paper Work
Fort Riley, Kan. (U.P.) When
Mess. Sgt. Chun Leung Ho of
Honolulu bogged down in Army
paper work in his job, he dug
out with the aid 'of a build-it-yourself
abacus.
"Works better than an electric
adding machine," Ho said. "At
least it does for me."
"The abacus is a simple device
consisting of a frame and wires
upon which are strung counters.
Ho dug up some beads from a
Christmas toy and made one
while fretting with paper work
in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Ho said he hadn't had a bit of
trouble since he made his copy
of the ancient calculator. One
thing he still needs, however, is
a set of division tables.
"I have written my mother in
Hong Kong for the tables," he
said. "When I get them, I'll real
ly be in business.".

ing to jet test pilot, Gerald
Huelsbeck, who has invented . a
helmet-mounted camera he can
operate with a twist of the head.
Huelsbeck, who flew 54 com
bat missions in Korea, said he
never did like the idea of taking
his hands off the controls to
make movies of other jets in
flight.
So the 27-year-old former
Navy pilot took a modified gun
camera, weighing less than a
pound, and attached it to the
side of his flight helmet. The
