The Holiday season drawing to a close has been an entertaining
one, with many parties in homes and clubs. Imaginative committees
and hostesses brightened the parties with gay decorations the
annual formal ball of Medford Junior Service league featured a
Christmas headdress contest and at a supper given by Mr. and Mrs.
Stephen G. Nye and Mr.' and Mrs. O. A. Eden little angels made
from foil and with amusing expressions added gaiety to the party.

Mrs. Robert A. Johnson, pictured here with Mr. Johnson, was
named queen of the Junior Service league's annual Christmas charity
ball when her headdress won first place in q contest sponsored by the
league. Mrs. Johnson was presented a gilt sceptre as a memento of
the party. Her gown, a Ceil Chapman, was of white satin ornamented
in turquoise blue and was fashioned in sheath style with side drapery.
The headdresses worn by Mrs. Sam Gilbert (at left) and Mrs. Ivan
Harrington for the annual ball of Medford Junior Service league were
considered outstanding. Mrs. Gilbert's headdress was made from
Christmas tree beads, ornaments and sprsjys of glitter while Mrs.
Harrington had devised her headpiece from silver leaves, tree orna
ments and a ruffle of pink net to match her-pink gown. ;

A miniature house with Santa -Claus on the roof was worn by
Mrs. M: D. McGeary-for-the Service. league ball. A burning incense
stick in the miniature' chimney provided real smoke. Dr. -and ; Mrs.
E. V. Meyerding joined the McGearys for supper, and Dr. Meyerding
Is shown seated next to Mrs. McGeary. The headdress was so heavy
. Mrs. McGeary removed it after the judging was completed.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Frohnmayer, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Collins and Mr. and Mrs. RichSrd Alley and the three women
are pictured here at their supper table. Mrs. Alley (at right) wore a Christmas hat made from angel hair and
brightly colored Christmas tree beads. Mrs. Frohnmayer is pictured at the left and Mrs. Collins, an active member
of the league, is shown in the center.
Two of the women who won honorable mention rating for their fancy headdresses at the Junior Service league
formal dance were Mrs. Raymond Reter (center) and Mrs.-Robert, Ejliott (at right): : The object atop Mrs. Retells
.headdress was a little bird, and Mrs. Elliott adorned .her headdress with miniature Christmol trees end bright
ornaments. Mrs. Walter Leverette (at left) wore a tiny-spray of silver on her hair. - Y
