Student Elected
To Honor Society
Jim Lattie, senior at Oigon
State college, has been initiated
into Alpha Zeta, honor society
for students in agriculture.
Young Lattie is enrolled in agri
cultural economics at the college,
with a minor in journalism.
The student is a member of
two otherOhonorQ groups, these
being Sigma Delta Chi, for men
students of journalism, and Blue
Key, service society for men at
osc.
He is aiso editor of the col
lege raily, The Barometer.

ter part of the week to spend
Women of Moose
Initiate Member
Mrs. Francois Patterson was
initiated into Women of the
Moose at a meeting held Wed
nesday, December 14 at the
Moose hall, 11 Newtown street.
Mrs. Frank Fairweather,
spoke to the chapter on the
founding and the work of the
Red Cross, stressing the need
for voluntary workers in the
Red Cross.

were on the program, which

At Jackson Hotel
Another one of the numerous
holiday staff breakfasts was one
held Friday morning for mem
bers of Robinson Brothers store
employees. Ten persons attended
the event held in the director's
room at the Jackson hotel. An
exchange of gifts was conducted.
Student Arrives
Miss Gail Bender arrived by
plane Friday evening from Se
attle, Wash. She is a junior at
Helen Bush school and is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. B.
Bender, 1941 Westerlund drive.
She will return to Seattle Jan
uary 2.

A Christmas party was held
for Exemplar chapter of Beta
Sigma Phi Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. Roy Stein. Games
were directed by Mrs. K. A.
Hayes and Miss Anna May, with
prizes going to Mrs. William
Hartman and Mrs. Nick DeWitt.
"Traveling" prizes were won
by Mrs. John S. Nelson, and
Miss May. Each member brought
a contribution for Fairview
home.
L'ast regular meeting of the
group was held December 7 at
the home of Mrs. Hayes, with
Mrs. Russel Budrau assisting. A
program was given by Mrs. J.
Edgar Moir, and Mrs. William
Hartman on the subpect of our
"Foreign Neighbors." Refresh
ments were in keeping with the
foreign theme, and holiday foods
from several nations were
served.
Redmonds Return
From Vacation Trip
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Redmond,
Griffin Creek road, returned
home Friday evening from a va
cation trip to Reno and Virginia
City, Nev., and Lake Tahoe and
Redding in California. At Red
ding they were guests of Mrs.
Redmond's brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Scheer, former Medford resi
dents. Mr. Scheer is a foreman
at the United States Plywood
plant there and conducted the
visitors on a tour of its opera
