The ball bearing factory they
visited Thursday is the first ball
bearing plant in the Soviet Union
and one of the largest in Eu
rope. The Americans saw ball
bearings turned out without be
ing touched by human hands.
ROOF THIEF SENTENCED
Washington (U.R) Charles
Edward Beard was sentenced to
360 days in jail Thursday for
stealing a roof. Judge Armond
W. Scott imposed the sentence
on"Beard for ripping copper roof
ing from a new 22,000 building
and selling the sheets to a local
junk dealer.

said 16th day of January. 1956 and at
said election there will be submitted
to the registered voters of said ter
ritory the question of altering the
Qioundaries of the City of Medford by
he annexation to the City of Med-
ford of the above described territory.
The registered voters in said con
tiguous territory are hereby invited
to vote and cast their ballots on such
annexation at said election.
The said territory is designated as
a single voting precinct for said elec
tion and the polling place therein is
at 1920 Barnett Road.

grammar "has" is correct. How
ever, on the grounds of usage,
"have" might be acceptable.
Anyway, as the question of
clarity is not involved, why
argue about it?
