Omaha, Neb. (U.R) Police
announced today they planned
0 to sive lie detector tests to two
suspects In the killing of Caro
lyn Marie Nevins, pretty Univer
sity of Omaha honor student.
One of the men, a 35-year-old
former cab driver, was described
as the best suspect yet in the
three-day-old investigation. The
other was a 26-year-old Negro,
whose alibi was undergoing .a
close check by detectives.
Inspector Ernest Brown said
much more checking remained
to be done before formal charges
could be filed against either man.
He kept his entire force on an
around the clock hunt for clues.
Body Found Saturday
The bullet-riddled body of the
brunette honor student was
found on the university camps
early Saturday She had been
shot four times, either late Fri
day night or early Saturday.
Police were convinced it was
a sex slaying. Carolyn's clothing
was disarranged, her shoes were
found 40 feet from the body, and
her panties were SO feet away.
The girl was last seen waiting
for a bus in front of a university
building at about 11:15 p.m.
(CST) Friday. Two witnesses said
she was talking to a tall Negro.
Detective Inspector Ernest
Brown, investigating the former
cab driver's .alibi, said he had
learned from the man's daughter
that he had been away from
home until after 11 p.m. Fri
day. Leavei Compared
Leaves found in the man's car
were compared with leaves in
the campus area and police were
also considering whether to give
the man a lie test. He has agreed
to take such a test, Brown said.
The murdered girl, who re
cently won a local Masonic
beauty contest, had left her part
time job in the student library
at 10 p.m. Her father, an insur

By ALINE MOSBY
Hollywood U.R) Yul Bryn
ner, bald head and all, is expect
ed to sizzle the nation's females
'tifTr"" next year as a
new type of
i screen romeo.
But the actor
yawns he'd
rather be a director.
Brynner's
gleaming pate
will decorate
two of Holly-
Aline Mosby wood's biggest
gest 1956 films, "The Ten Com
mandents" and "The King and
I." Both roles are designed to
make him a threat to the young
romantic Rocks and Tabs of
Hollywood.
But for Brynner's next film
he wants a story he can both di
rect and star in or just direct.
"Directing is for me the most
fascinating work," he decided
today as he walked his German
Shepherd dog around the 20th
Century -Fox stage between
scenes of "The King and I."
Wants fo Direct
"I'm watching for both acting
and directing chances. In fact,
when Fox asked me to do "The
King and I," I suggested I di
rect it."
Brynner rhymes with winner
hopes his next movie will be
modern. He rose to stardom in
"The King and I" on Broadway
and hasn't been back to hair and
charcoal gray suits since. For
four years he played the king on
the stage in those Siamese
draped pants and now he's re
peating the familiar role for the
screen. j
His only break from the part j
came when he starred in Cecil i
B. DeMille's "The Ten Com-
mandents." As'Rameses he
swept about in short skirts, mag-'
nificent gold-lined capes and
without hair.
"If a part requires it, I would
shave my head again," he insist- j
ed. "I have no feeling about my ,
looks.
"I've been shaving my head
every day since 19ol, except
last summer when I was home
on vacation and was too lazy."
Is in Old Movie
Fans who wish to see Brynner
with hair can spot him in his old
movie now making the rounds
on television, "Port of New
York."
Despite his 1,500 perform
ances as the king, Brynner is
not bored with repeating the
lines, this time to Deborah Kerr,
who sings for the first time in
the role the late Gertrude Law
rence created on the stage.
The film, he says, will be
"less stylized" than the play
and more lavish. The colorful
set of the harem quarters alone
put the studio back $60,000. In
one scene are 25 Siamese harem
girls in beautiful costumes cost
ing $300 to $650 each, designed
by the famed Irene Sharaff.

"Clever gal,
my Carol!"
JTm tickled pink with the smart
way my Carol handles her house
work. Take wood floors for instance.
Most gals complain about all that
scrubbing and waxing. But not my
Carol! She cleans and waxes them
in one easy operation with Bruce
Cleaning Wax. It takes her half the
time and a lot less elbow grease. And
we've yet to have a guest who hasn't
commented on our beautiful wood
floors. My Carol and her Bruce
Cleaning Wax really make easy work
of a hard job. I'm mighty pleased
with both of them.
P.S. For lighter
waxing on linoleum
and wood, Carol uses
Bruce Floor Cleaner.
