Sand Control Project
Sought by Neuberger
! Washington (U.R) Sen.. Rich
ard L. Neuberger (D-Ore.) has
asked the bureau of the budget
to include a request for a sand
control project at Florence, Ore.,
in the budget for the next fiscal
year.
Neuberger'g office here said
he had requested an allocation
of $30,000 to-be used by the
U. S. Forest Service in planting
Holland grass on drifting sand
dunes near the mouth of the Siu

The Oregon Democrat said
drifting dunes were encroaching
on valuable timber land, engulf
ing farm land, and threatening
to choke the harbor entrance
and cover U. S. Highway 101.

yesterday fined William Tierney,
