Prices Received by
Farmers Decline
Washington (U,R) The prices
received by farmers for crops
and livestock fell 2 per cent dur
ing the month ended Nov. 15,
the Agricultural Department re
ported yesterday.
The decline left farm prices 7
per cent below a year earlier.
Farmers' costs fell 1-3 of 1 per
cent during the month.
On the parity scale which
measures farm prices against
farm loss, farmers' earnings in
mid-November, averaged 81 per
cent of parity. That is down from
82 per cent in mid-October and
87 per cent in mid-November
last year.
Portland Dealer To 'Bootleg' Cars
Washington U.R) A Gen
eral Motors dealer who lost his
franchise told Senate investigat
ors yesterday he expects to stay
in business by "bootlegging"
new cars.
The dealer S. W. Fraser of
Portland, Ore., said he is being
offered all the new cars he wants
at a markup of 525 to $100 a
car.
He was one of a number of
former GM dealers who testified
before the Senate monopoly sub
committee on the giant corpora
tion's relations with its dealers.
The subcommmittee is making a
case study of GM and its effect
on the economy.
Fraser said his franchise was
revoked although he sold 446
cars through August of this year,
compared with 159 in the same
period last year and 263 in ell
at 1954. He said he was "be
wildered" by the action and
other dealers were "stunned."
The only explanation that oc
curred to him, he said, is that
auto executives have been hit
by a "power drunk madness" to
sell more cars. He said factory
representatives complained he
was making too much profit
when he made about S400 on
each of 27 cars. He said his
profits were only $12.10 per
auto in the last year.

BAND DISBANDS
Manville, R.I. (UP.) The
Manville Brass Band has sound
ed the last note of its 72-year
history. The band disbanded be
cause it had only enough mem
bers left to form a quartet.

she said in that lilting accent.
"Maybe I should advertise I
have a house, diamonds and
money in the bank!"
In this case the "lonely hearts"
applicant is beautiful, blonde,
sharp, rich, age unknown.
Actors Rejected
Any applicants for the job
must be home-grown. Zsa Zsa
wants to live in America. And
actors need not apply.
"No actors," continued Zsa
Zsa.
"I want a man who will be a
good father to my daughter, a
nice settled-down man. No more
glamour."
She wants a man who "gets
up in the morning and goes to
work and then comes home at
night. This lets out international
playboy Porfirio Rubirosa, whom
Zsa Zsa has been speculating for
many editions about marrying.
"I'm tiled of being alone and
my child needs a father," she
said. "I have four suitors now
including a Texan who has one
hundred million dollars but I'm
so busy with my career I don't
have much time to date."
Zsa Zsa was rehearsing at
CBS-TV for "the best dramatic
role I've had" in "Man of Taste,"
on "Climax!" tonight.
Treatment Outlined
When not talking about men,
she proudly pointed out the story
was written especially for her
and Michael Rennie by "an ex
pensive writer from MGM.' "
Besides the expensive writer,
CBS has surrounded Zsa Zsa
with a million dollars worth of
props. She wears a $750,000 dia
mond once owned by the Shah
of Persia and rented for the oc
casion. She also will have three
. fur coats $100,000 and seven
original paintings ($150,000).
"I'll also wear my own dia
monds," she commented. "I feel
positively nude without them."
