Dr. Helen S. Hogg, astronomer
of the National Science Founda
tion, told the United Press that
this could well be "one of the
great scientific events" of the
coming decade.
She said at least two observa
tories are searching intensively
for "gravitational proof" that the
nearer stars possess planets like

officials said today they are
working on plans for an auto
matic "fine-meter" for parking
violators. They said overtime
