liott and Eugene Jr., arrived in
Medford recently from St. Paul,
Minn., and have purchased the
I. E. Schuler residence on Med
ford heights.
Dr. Meyerding will open a
practice in general surgery in
the Medical Center building. He
recently was released from the
Air Force after serving as chief
of the surgical service for three
years at Keesler Air Force base
at Biloxi, Miss.
He is the son of a St. Paul
doctor and great-grandson of a
pioneer Minnesota physician. Dr.
Meyerding was graduated from
the University of Minnesota's
medical school in 1946 and serv
ed his internship at Ancker hos
pital. He also served as a sur
geon at Tripler Army hospital
in Honolulu during the Korean
conflict.
Norman Gail New

Gold Hill C. Norman Gail
has been named to a three-year
term on the board of directors
of the Gold Hill Irrigation dis
trict, it was announced todav bv
district officials.
Gail, the only candidate for
whom a petition was filed, was
named by the board of directors.
No election is necessary, accord
ing to state law, when petitions
are filed for only one candidate.
Gail will be serving his first
full term, on the board of direct
ors. He was named about a year
ago to fill the unexpired term
of A. J. Michaels, who resigned
to move to Ellensburg, Wash.
Other members of the board
are G. Ivan Peoples, president,
and Lester Parker.

phoned tips in their search for
three-year-old Stephen Damman,
missing since Monday.
Persons with records of sex
off enses . against children were
questioned on the chance that
the boy may have been kid
naped. Police also checked rec
ords for recent child deaths on
the theory that Stephen might
have been taken by a bereaved
mother.
Some 1000 Nassau county po
lice and volunteers have search
ed for the child since he disap
peared from in front of a super
market Monday afternoon.
