Is Still Immature Girl
Some people are mature even
when very young in that they
accept responsibilities and can
be counted on. Others, by con
trast, snow little maturity of be
havior even when they are le
gally of age and have the rights,
Drivileees. and duties of an
adult.

old. We have been married for
seven years and have two
young children. Everyone says
she is immature. She leaves
the house, telling me she is
going to the movies, and then
does not return for several
days. She goes to her folks'
home and leaves me in charge
ef the children. Fortunately
my mother is a widow and is ,
always wiiimg to come neip
out. Now my wife has gone
to visit a friend in another
cit, and says she thinks she
will stay because she can get
a job that pays good money.
She has written and asked me
to send her a two-way ticket
so she can come home and get
her clothes. Should I do this
of insist that she resume her

Just because
your wife is 25
years old, and
the mother of
two children does not make her
a mature person. As people have
pointed out to you, she is in
mature in her behavior.
Whether you can pofnt out
that it is time for her to grow
up and act her age will depend
upon how much she wants to
grow up. That her parents al
lowed her to stay with them,
Knowing she had left you and
the children, would suggest that
she has befcn encouraged to be
irresponsible. Having found life
easier and pleasanter under such
condition's, it is questionable
whether anything you have to
say will make her want to
change now.

Killed by Shotgun
Nedberg, Ore. (U.R) A 14-year-old
boy accidentally shot
himself to death with a shotgun
late yesterday as he hunted birds
with his father about three miles
west of here. '
The victim was Leland Kuhn,
14, son-of Mr. and Mrs. Emer-9
son Kuhn, Newberg. He was
Yamhill county's first hunting
fatality of the season.
Yamhill county coroner Don
Hodson said the boy apparently
caused the weapon to discharge
as he dragged it through a barb
ed wire fence after him, catch
ing the hammer on one of the
barbs.
The accident occurred about
5 p.m. The boy died almost in
stantly.
It was Oregon's seventh shoot
ing fatality of the deer and bird
hunting seasons.

George Leonard Cal
lahan, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Cloyde Callahan, was rescued
from his smoke-filled home here
today by a neighbor.
The child was revived with
fire department equipment and
hospital attendants said his con
dition was good. -
Fire Chief Roy Rowe said the
fire was caused when a kettle
on the stove boiled dry while
Mrs Callahan was out. of the
house.
Mrs. Melba Snyder saw the
smoke and broke a bedroom
window to rescue the baby. She
was treated for cuts on her arm.
