Yes, It Has Been a Great Eight Years for Station ICYJC Thanks to the splendid sup
port of our many fine listeners and sponsors . . . In October of 1947 KYJC began
operation as a Music, News and Public Service Station . . Then in response to
your calls, letters and cards asking for a national network, KYJC became an af
filiate of the American Broadcasting Company in 1949. . A Few years later when
your comments and suggestions indicated you were missing the top CBS programs
in this area, KYJC began negotiations and in 1952 added the programs of the
'
Columbia Broadcasting System. Thus bringing to the Rogue Valley radio audience
the best of these two great networks.
Local sponsors and local civic groups added their own fine programs to
the network entertainment with such programs as: The Trading Post .
Relay Quiz . . Safety Pays . . MacLeod's Sports . . Rogue Valley Report
ers .. Weather Reports . . County Agent . . Here's To Vets . . High
School and College Sports . . Concert Time . . The Children's Hour . .
Radio Study Club . . Bulletin Board . . Medford Schools . . Boy and Girl
Scouts . . And Lion's Marsh of Dimes Auction.
