a commission. If he does not re

why the taxi driver should be

Asking
Queries from clients: Q. Didn't
Ruth Etting introduce the song,
"Ten Cents a Dance," in a musi
cal show titled "Simple Simon,"
of which Ed Wynn was the star?
A. Ruth did appear in "Simple
Simon," but I believe she intro

the "Ziegfeld Follies." . . . Q.
What are the names of the four
children of Mrs. Paul Brink
man (Jeanne Crain)? A. Paul,
Michael, Timothy and Jeanine.
Mrs. Brinkman expects to have
two more offspring. She main

Maintenance Millions
Help
Southern Oregon
Well be spending approximately a million dollars
this year (as we have for many yean in the past)
to maintain oar trackage on the Siskiyou line
between Eugene and Ashland.
New improvements such as sidings, bridges, sig
nals and industrial tracks win cost in excess of
$498,000.00. In addition -to this we'll spend better
than a half million ($515,000.00 in 1954) in regular
maintenance renewing ties, maintaining signals,
culverts, drainage, tamping track, painting, etc.
Yes, it costs us a million dollars a year or better
because you see, unlike our competitors on the
highway and in the air, we have te bttiid and
maintain oar right-of-way.
Most of these dollars are spent locally f or labor
and materials. They stay home and keep on work
ing for you.
