October Campaign
Plans Announced
' Plans will be announced Sun
day at the Medford Assembly
of God Sunday school, 1108 West
Main it., for the October enlarge
ment campaign which will be
carried on in cooperation with
all churches of the denomina
tion. Goals for various departments
will be given and the outline of
programs - will be announced.
During the past year there has
been nearly a 30 per cent in
crease in attendance in the Sun
day school of the church. Offi
cers of the school state that
plans made will endeavor to
maintain this growth.
In conjunction with the Sun
day school program Sunday
morning will be the promotion
O of pupils. .
A staff meeting of the Sunday
school will be held tonight at
the church in preparation for
the program.

dren Sunday, Sept. 25, at 9:45

The sermon for the morning

sented by W. C. Piper on the
subject, "The Still Small Voice."

dale of Reedsport as a .member
of the State Fish Commission.

NewHours Announced
For Medford Center
New day time hours for the
Medford Truth center, "Unity,"
were announced this week by
Katharine Bosworth, leader! The
center is located at Room 203
in the Holly theater building.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 27
the center will be open weekly
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
through Fridays. Meditation will
be held from 12 to 12:30 p.m.,
and office workers are invited
to take their lunches. Coffee
will be served, the leader ex
plained. New books will be on sale
and the lending library will be
open.

After the service a coffee hour
is planned in the Sunday school
building in honor-of the new

Reformation Day
Observance Set
A "Festival of Faith" is being
planned by the Medford Minis
terial association to observe Re
formation day in October.
Flans, for the observance in
clude a Choir festival Sunday
evening, Oct. 30, when Protes
tant church choirs will sing.-On
Monday evening, Oct. 31, the
film, "Martin Luther," will be
shown.
The committee in charge of
the observance includes Dr. D.1
Kirkland West of the First Pres
byterian church, the Rev.
George R. V. Bolster, St. Mark's
Episcopal church, and Dr. Ray
mond E. Balcomb, First Meth
odist church.
Nezarenes Plan
Robe Dedication
In special services Sunday
morning, the Sanctuary choir of
Church of the Nazarene, Holly
and First sts., will dedicate new
choir robes.
The music committee and
choir members, began a project
last winter to purchase the new
full length robes.
The processional song at 11
a.m., Sunday, will be an arrange
ment of "Make Me a Blessing,"
by Schuler.
Dean von Stein, chairman of
the music committee, will make
the presentation of the robes to
the church as a gift from the
choir. A response and dedication
prayer will be offered by the
pastor, the Rev. Raymond W.
Hurn.

subject will be "Who Is a Mis
sionary?" Featured in the evening serv
ice will be a duet by the Rev.
and Mrs. Hurn and the Sunday
evening sermon "Recovery From
Spiritual Blunders" .

First Baptists Set
Rally Day Program
An annual fall rally and pro
motion day will be held Sun
day at First Baptist Sunday
school, North Central ave. at
Fifth st. Mrs.. Herman Ekerson
will have charge of the program
to be presented by those being
promoted from the beginner to
the primary department.
Other parts of the program
will be given by the primary de
partment, headed by Mrs. Mel
vin Johnson, and the junior de
partment, for. which Mrs. Don
ald . Zimmers is superintendent.
Students who attend the high
school and college age division
also will be recognized.
' The combined Baptist leagues
will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday
evening and will sponsor a meet
ing with the Rev. Hammond Ma
jor, Conservative Baptist mis
sionary from India, as speaker.
All members and friends of the
church are invited.
At the 11 a.m. worship service
the Rev. James Neely will speak
on the subject, "God's Remedy
for Prayerlessness." A program
of music will be presented by
the adult choir at 8 p.m. and a
message will be given by the
pastor.
