With the demand for experi

salary is $255 a month. She is
an experienced nurse. A tele

No wonder there is a shortage
of young -women desiring to be
come registered nurses.

Cooling Trend Seen
In Oregon Weather

Oregon's September heat wave
was due to subside today but
temperatures forecast by the
weather bureau were still well
above normal and fire danger
was high.
In Portland, the' mercury was
slated to stay in the middle 80's,
in contrast to the 90-plus read
ings Sunday and Monday. Coast
al areas which had also exper
ienced the dry inland heat were
expected to have maximums
from 65 to 70 today.
Medford and The Dalles each
had 100 degrees Monday and
Medford s 107 Sunday was a
record for this part of the sum
mer. .
The weather .bureau said the
cooling trend would begin in
Western Oregon. Forecast for
areas east of the mountains was
for "continued quite warm."
