Personal Health
By WILLIAM BRADY,
Readers should address inquiries to:
Dr. William Brady
263 El Camino, Beverly Hills, Calif.
I CAN TAKE IT. TOO
A reader of a paper in which
Personal Health Service appears,
says that low-brow comedy gets
sickening and
"All you've proved in the few
weeks I've read your column is:
you have very little medical
background, you treat people
without ever seeing or examin
ing them, you treat adults as chil
dren, you murder the English
language, you seem to have no
basis for your treatments, and
finally you don't seem to know
what you're talking about. To
sum it up, I think you are a
quack.
"You go against the advice of
modern, up - to - date doctors
which is fine for progress, but

Harriman Predicts
Eisenhower Defeat
New York (U.R) Gov. Aver
ell Harriman predicted Monday
night that President Eisenhower
will be defeated if he seeks re
election despite his personal pop
ularity. Harriman, himself considered
a possible Democratic candidate
for the presidency, said that the
President has retained his popu
larity because of an ability to
"disassociate himself with his
associates."
"But," the governor said,
"when it comes to a campaign,
it's impossible for a candidate to
divorce himself from his associ
ates. Harriman said an Eisen
hower reelection bid would be
unsuccessful because of "the fail
ures of the people around him."
"The people are swinging
away from the Republican party
and therefore will swing away
from the leader of that party
when election time comes next
year," Harriman said.

Brother and Sister Axtell gave
a talk on their recent visit to
San Francisco. Sister Faber
stated she js expecting to attend
a conference on world under

bring a gift at the next meeting
to be sold for 25c. The money
will go to buy teaspoons for the

Brother and sister Faber served

your column have you stated
where and how you get these
ideas, and you have never given
proof that your treatments are
sound. Personally, I think a
horse doctor knows more about
the medical profession than you
do, and the paper could use the
space your column takes up for
a better purpose."
If any one with a name and
address should ask, I'll be glad to
reveal the sad facts about my
medical background.
It is not news that I'm a quack.
I have been telling the world so
these many years.
But, I do wish the unidentified
correspondent or any one who
has identity would specify an
instance in which I treated peo
ple without seeing or examining
them.
Moreover, if any reader thinks
I give advice that does not ac
cord with that of any "modern,
up-to-date" doctor, let him or her
cite an example and quote the
advice of the modern, up-to-date
doctor. I promise to state where
and how I got the idea in ques
tion if I can.
As for giving proof that my
teachings are sound, I'd hardly
set forth an idea if any doctor
could prove that an opposing
idea were true. Opinion and
proof are not identical.
When it comes to treating peo
ple I haven't seen or examined,
the only way I've treated people
since Tony was a pup is rough,
and they seem to like my treat
ment. At any rate more and
