Family Reunion

I was the first time in many
years that the entire family had
been together and reminiscences
included trips by horse and
waeon to Huckleberry mountain
fishing in the Rogue, and a trip
by hers and wagon to the coast
which took several weeks.
The brothers and sisters who

Saturday evening a family
dinner was attended by 32 per
sons including wives of the Pan
key brothers, and Mrs. Nellie
Svtjherd. mother-in-law of Bill
Pankey; his daughters and sons-
in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Horse
lv of Klamath Falls, and Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Parrish and
their families.
Also at the reunion were the
son and daughter-in-law of Mrs.
Grieve. Mr. and Mrs. James H
Grieve and their three sons,
James W., Kern and Scott, and
their daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. William Millbanks,
ProsDect. with their son, Bruce
JJruce Millbank, 16 months old,
was the only great-grandchild
present.

Reunion Scene
About 120 persons' attended
a picnic of the Quigley-Maples-gen
families last Sunday at
Lithia park in Ashland. A large
-gumber were from the Rogue
valley-, while others came from
ArtoisS, Weed, Dunsmuir, Etna.
Ft. Jones, Stockton, and Man
teca, Calif.
Those who attended were
mainljr descendants of Thomas
Quigley and Abbie Maplesden
Quigley who had lived on Klam
ath river in northern California.
Those In charge of the event
were Mrs. Alice Shepherd, Mrs.
H. A. St. Clair, Frank Quigley,
all of Medford; Mrs. Ernest
Thran, Manteca, and Mrs. Grace
Quigley of Hornbrook. Mrs.
Shepherd, Mrs. St. Clair, Mrs.
Thran and Mr. Quigley are sis
ters and brother, and Mrs. Grace
Quigley is their sister-in-law.
(This is the fourth such reunion

Family Returns
Mrs. Gordon MacKenzie and
Hons, Donald and Bruce, 1616
East Main street, returned home
the end of the week by t plane
from New Hampshire -where
they visiteot relatives for about
two months. They also visited
in New York City and in Boston.'

Mr. and Mrs.
Festival Musicians To Present
First Concert This Afternoon
Ashland The first of four
concerts by Shakespeare festival
musicians will be presented from
the festival theatre stage at 5
o'clock- this afternoon.
The four Sunday concerts are
a part of this year's . expanded
music program, the most ambi
tious one planned since the pro
gram was established as an in
tegral part of the festival in 1952.
Directed and arranged by fes
tival music director Bernard
Wind!, the concert includes both
vocal and instrumental groups.
Vocal groups will include tour
and five-part madrigals, three
nart F.nelish Avres. and some
soloists. The instrumental music
will be dances. All of the music
in the first concert is Elizabeth
an, and some of the later con
certs will feature more modern
works.

A special feature of the con
cert will be solo numbers by
Brad Curtis, now in his fourth
season with the festival. For
several years Curtis worked as
a night club piano player and
singer. Two years ago : he took
up the study of. English and
American folk music and has
since, developed a repertoire of
more than 400 songs. This after
noon he will sing several songs.

Besides the concerts, the music
program this year includes inci
dental music for the plays. Be
fore each play, the festival musi
cians dressed in Elizabethan cos
tume, wander throughout the
audience singing folk music. All
of the music this year is either
written or adapted by Windt,
who is chairman of the music
department for the Ashland pub
lice schools. He works from the
few existing 16th century scripts
and from the works of students
of Elizabethan music methods.
All of the Sunday concerts
this year will be in the theatre,
and all are open to the public
free of charge.

Office rl Attend
Roseburg Session
Officers of Medford chapter,
Women of the Moose, attended,
an executive committee meeting
in Roseburg last Sunday.
This is an annual meeting held
to acquaint the officers with the
handbook and to exchange ideas
with other chapters of the area.
Those present at the meeting
from Medford were Mrs. Clara
Eldridge, Mrs. James Roberts,
Mrs. Leo Webster, Mrs. Joe Bee
son, Mrs. Ben Wells and Mrs.
Richard Pruitt.
The Medford chapter will hold
initiation at a meeting set for
Wednesday, August 10 at 8 p.m.

Keith-Hill Wedding Rites
Held at Methodist Church
Among late July weddings was that of Anna Mae Hill and
Arthur H. Keith, held July 22 at First Methodist church. Dr. Ray
mond Balcomb read the double-ring service at eight o'clock in the
evening.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd W. Fogel
quist, 2554 Roberts road, Med
ford, and the bridegroom's fos
ter parents are Mr. and Mrs. A.
L. Unger of 634 Pennsylvania
avenue, Medford.
The bride's wedding ensemble
was a light pink knit suit worn
with white accessories and her
flowers were baby rosebuds.
She was attended by her sister,
Mrs. Walter Gavin, who wore a
green knit suit with white acces
sories. Her corsage was of gar
denias and carnations.
The bride's mother wore a
frock of dark green imported
cotton with grey accessories, and
a corsage of red roses. The
bridegroom's mother was attired
in a print frock worn with cor
sage of white carnations and
gardenias.
Carl Keith, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man and
ushers were Walter Gavin,
brother-in-law of the bride and
Glen Unger, foster brother of the
bridegroom. Mr. Fogelquist
gave his daughter in marriage.
Mrs. Richard Hart played the
organ music and accompanied
the soloist.
Arrangements of gladiolus dec
orated the church.
The reception which followed
was at the Fogelquist home. The
bride's table was centered with
the wedding cake, and summer
flowers banked the fireplace
and were used to decorate the
gift table.

menus, with emphasis on the
proper preparation and storage
of foods which might remain un

The annual Myrtle Creek re
