cation in Montana and Wyom
ing, visiting friends in Kalispell,
Wyo., and stopping at Glacier,
Yellowstone and Grand Teton
National parks.
The Rev. and Mrs. Joseph
Bowdoin and family are moving
to Medford. They have been
residents of Shady Cove for a
number of years and had two
children In the Shady Cove
School last year. At one time
Mr. Bowdoin was pastor of the
Trail church. j
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warack
and daughter. Cookie, Mesa,
Ariz., have been visiting Mrs.
"Warack's brother and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Waltz, Shady
Cove.
Mrs. Julia Athey, Alamogordo.
N. Mex., is a house guest of
Mrs. Katherine Henry, Shady
Cove. Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Athey
have been friends since their
girlhood in Florida. Mrs. Athey
is employed as a housemother
in a school for the blind.
A group of friends held a sur
prise party for Mrs. Howard
Nutt, Shady Cove, last week on
her birthday. Guests were Mrs.
Dale Sawyer, Mrs. Gene Weit
man, Mrs. Joe Waltz, Mrs. Ed
Learning and her houseguest,
Mrs. Ken Smithline, Vancouver,
Wash.
The next show attraction on
Monday night at VFW hall will
be "Walk a Crooked Mille" with
Louis Hayward and Dennis
O'Keefe.
Gary Davis, Monrovia Calif.,
is spending the summer visiting
with his aunts, Mrs. Joe Waltz
and family, and Mrs. Gene Weit
man and family, both Shady
Cove and with his aunt and fam
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bishop,
and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
L. L. Davis, Medford.
A group of friends gave a sur
prise party for Gene Weitman,
Shady Cove, on his birthday.
Those attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Gene House, Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Learning, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Waltz and the Weitmans. Games
were played and refreshments
served.

honoring the fourth birthday of
her son, Kevin Hale. Children

Workmen To Tear Down Old Bridge; New One Scheduled
Contractors are scheduled to
begin tearing down the Valley
View bridge off Highway 99 near
Jeckson Hot Springs this week
to make way for a new $50,000
span.
A devour bridge will be
erected as soon as possible but
until it is ready, traffic to and
from the area will move by way

Valley View inn were represented.

RAPE SUSPECT HELD
Paul Eugene Peck, 20, of 201
Taft st., is held in the county
jail in connection with a statua
tory rape case, according to city
police and the district attorney's
office. He was arrested Friday.
City police said that the case in
volved several minor girls.

added service to producers in
Jackson county.
