Ex-Germany Judge
To Set Sail Soon
Princeton. N.J. ;u.R; For
mer Judge William Clark had
has long-fought-for passport in
his possession today and said he
intends to leave for Germany as
soon as he can.
. The former chief judge of the
American Appeals Court in West
Germany finally won the pass
port to Germany last Saturday.
He had brought suit to force
the State Department to issue
it.
He said his reception of the
passport in the mail Wednes
day ended a two-year fight
against "oppressive bureau
cracy." He was ousted from his post
in Germany in June, 1954, after
a feud with then High Commis
sioner James B. Conant.
The front exterior also has
been redesigned to resemble a
tack room and the interior deco
rations and renovations are
themed to a mural of palomino
horses painted in oils by Hal
Bishop. Valley artist. Numerous
residents have contributed va
rious trappings, including Span
ish bits, old stirrups. Navajo
blankets, branding irons and
horse figurines. Cowboy booots
have been converted into plant
ers for other decorations.
Al Gandt, Medford designer,
was in charge of the remodel
ing. In observance of the annual
Rogue River roundup week, em
ployees of the lounge are wear
ing western attire.

community burning ground are
being studied Chief Richard
Krupp of the Central Point
Rural Fire Protection district
said today.
Rural firemen extinguished a
"minor" blaze in sawdust by the
burning ground yesterday.
Krupp said that wind apparently
carried a spark from the burning

covered about 200 square feet.
The chief reported that the
sawdust burned had been lost by
trucks going to the grounds.
