Shady Cove-Trail Capt. and
Mrs. Paul Maxwell spent several
clays visiting with Mrs. Max
well's aunt and husband. Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Hopkins of Shady
Cove. Captain Maxwell, an Army
dontist. and Mrs. Maxwell spent
two years in Japan and stopped
at the Hopkins' en route to their
home in Iowa.
Mrs. Leona Sheppard, Glen
dale, has been visiting with her
son and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Sheppard of the Roguedale
Cash market, Shady Cove.
At the reception held at the
Rogue Valley Country club fol
lowing the Segessenman-Pfluke
wedding on June 25 a camera
was left in the clubrooms. If any
one attending the reception is
missing a camera they may
claim one by identifying it at
the Segessenman home in Shady
Cove.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes
and Mr. and Mrs. Art Plumb, all
of Glendale, Calif., are visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chubb and
family of Shady Cove.
Mr. and Mrs. William Dufau
and Mrs. Joan Alexander and
daughter, Debbie, Belmont,
Calif., are visiting with Mrs.
Dufau's sister and husband, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Busch. Trail.
Mrs. Alexander is Mrs. Busch's
niece.
The next show attraction for
Monday night at the VFW Hall
in Shady Cove is to be "Walk A
Crooked Mile" with Louis Hay
ward and Dennis O'Keefe.
Mrs. Roy Long's Valley sup
ply, Shady Cove, has returned
from Grants Pass where she left
her grandson, Bobby Rhodes,
with his aunt, Mrs. Dave Pruess.
In Portland she was with her
daughter, Mrs. Rhey Rhoades,
who underwent major surgery.
Pam Rhoades, her granddaugh
ter, returned to Shady Cove with
her and will stay most of the
rest of the summer.
Newcomers to Shady Cove
will be Mr. and Mrs. Willis Bar
rett, Chico, Calif., who are at
present living in Medford but
who have purchased through
Mrs. Ruth Sanford the Dunn
house on the river in Edgewood
Park. Art Levulett is tearing
down the old building which has
been under water several times,
during floods and the Barretts
are planning to build a new
home farther back from the
river.
Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Walz, Rapid
City, S. D., are visiting with Dr.
Walz's sister and family. Mr. and
Mrs. John Wilson, Shady Cove.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Green-
elsh. San Luis Obispo, Calif., vis
ited for a short time last week
with Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Wat
son of Shady Cove.
Melvin Cooper is home on a
15 day furlough from Ft. Leon
ard Wood, Mo., visiting with his
parents, relatives and friends
Mrs. Tom Cream, Shady Cove,
who was confined last week to
Sacred Heart hospital in Med
ford expected to return home
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Smithline,
Vancouver, Wash., are visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Learning,
Shady Cove.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Warren,

Mrs. Bob Vincent, ShadyXove,
entertained one afternoon last
week at her home with an after
noon of games. Guests were
Mesdames Jerry Hicks, Max
Hawks. Dolf Larson and daugh
ter, Eda. the hostess and her
mother, Mrs. Margaret Walker.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Evans,
Corvallis, spent the week end re
cently with Mrs. Evan's brother
and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Ody, Trail. The Evans, who are
leaving shortly for Alaska where
they will both teach, were fea
tured in the Corvallis newspa
per recently when they pur
chased from a Corvallis Super
Market groceries amounting to
S800, the largest single grocery
order ever filled by this market.
The groceries are supplies for
the Alaska trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Decker,
Portland, have been visiting his
mother, Mrs. Frances Miller,
Shady Cove. The Deckers ac
companied by Mrs. Miller made
a camping trip to Klamath lake
last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Opp and
son, John, Coos Bay, visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Segessenman, Shady Cove.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Riley, Bur
bank, Calif.T are house guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Morgan, Trail.
Mrs. Tom Quail, Shady Cove,
was co-hostess with Mrs. Archie
McKillop, Prospect, at the Mc
Killop home for a pink and blue
shower honoring Mrs. Ray
Maurer, Prospect, the afternoon
of Wednesday, July 20. The
shower was held outside on the
lawn. Refreshments were served
following the opening of gifts.
