Two Local Patients
On Mercy Flights
Two Medford people were to
be transported by a Mercy
Flights air ambulance plane to
day. DiAnn Hood, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Hood, 505
Benson St., was flown to Port
land this morning to enter Good
Samaritan hospital for emer
gency medical treatment. Her
parents accompanied her on the
flight.
On the return trip, the air am
bulance was to bring back Mrs.
J. Ben Doss, 624 North River
side ave.. who underwent sur
gery at St. Vincent's hospital.
Her husband was to accompany
her.
The twin-engine ambulance
plane operated by the non-profit
organization was scheduled
for the flights, with George Mil
ligan as pilot. The two patients
were the 369th and 370th car
ried by the service since organ
ized years ago.

buying by bulls and bears gave
the stock market an appearance
of strength today.
The bulls bought Standard Oil
of New Jersey on anticipation
of a stock split. The issue rose
5 points and then gave up part
of the rise. Bears covered some
of their commitments in this
issue which is a "hot" one to be
short of. Texas Co. also was giv
en a whirl up of more than 2
points.
