Couple Now Living in Medford
After North Dakota Ceremony
Gold Hill Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Morgan, recently mar
ried in Langdon, N.D., are now residing in Medford at 20 Laurel
'street. The bride is the former Miss Rhena E. Blair, a daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John Blair of Maida, N.D., and the bridegroom
the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Morgan, Gold Hill.

June 15 in the Presbyterian
church of Langdon. The bride
was given in marriage by her
father. She wore a Queen Anne's
ballerina length embroidered
organdy gown with a standup
collar. Her chapel-length veil
also was of organdy and had a
pearl headdress. Her bouquet
was of Pinnochio rosebuds with
a white orchid which she carried
on a white Bible.

1 at the Medford Full Gospel
tabernacle. The Rev. Don Gar
ner officiated. About 40 guests
attended.
Maid of honor and best man
were Mr. and Mrs. Philip Bray.
The bride wore a white nylon
dress with corsage of white Ester
Reed daisies. The maid of hon
or was dressed in black with
white accessories, and her cor
sage was of white daisies.
A reception after the wedding
was held at the church, given by
Mrs. Garner and Mrs. Leonard
Stevenson.
They now reside at the bride
groom's home, 832 Humphrey
street.
; Maid of honor was Miss Violet
Blair, sister of the bride, and
Henry Blair, her brother, was
best man.
Miss Blair's gown was of coral
crystallette and she wore a
matching picture hat. Her flow
ers were coral and white.
The other attendants were
Miss Evelyn Carson, former class
mate in nursing training, and
Miss Marion Mountain, Langdon,
a former high school classmate.
Their gowns and hats matched
the maid of honor- and their
flowers also were coral and
white.
The bride's mother wore a
princess style navy blue dress
with white trimming and the
bridegroom's mother was dressed
in royal blue. Her accessories
were pink and both had carna
tion corsages.
The reception was held at the
church.
' Mr. and Mrs. Morgan made a
brief wedding trip to points of
interest in Canada, then left for
Gold Hill, accompanied by the
bridegroom's parents. On the re
turn trip they visited relatives
in Nebraska and toured Yellow
stone National, park. .
Mr. Morgan will attend South
ern Oregon college.
Mrs. Morgan is a 1950 grad
uate of Langdon high school and
received nurses' training at Ab
bott hospital in Minneapolis. She
is now employed at Sacred Heart
hospital, in Medford.

Hold Meeting;
Trophy Donated
About 80 lady golfers attended
a luncheon and business meeting
of the women's Golf association
Thursday at Rogue Valley Coun
try club. Mrs. Warren Lesseg,
general chairman, introduced
Mrs. Joe Johnson, general chair
man of the Grants Pass lady
golfers.
Harold A. Johnson of Grants
Pass has donated a trophy to be
given the winner of two consecu
tive team wins. Medford lady
golfers won the first match, the
second to be played in Grants
Pass August 10. If Medford is
successful again, they gain per
manent possession of the trophy.
The next WVSO play will be
June. 20 at the Eugene Country
club in Eugene. Mrs. Bell
Schenck informed the group that
those who go to Eugene should
have reservations in by July 16.
Gardeners Make
Plans for Fall
District Meeting
Eagle Point The Eagle Point
Federated garden club met July
6 at the home of Mrs. John
Carries. Purpose of the meeting
was to plan a district convention
to be held in the Eagle Point
Grange hall, September 29, for
which the Eagle Point and Butte
Falls clubs will be joint hosts.
Mrs. Ira Fitzgerald introduced
a committee of three, Mrs. Frank
Carson, Mrs. Ralph Conrad, and
Mrs. Harry Dalton of the Butte
Falls club and tentative arrange
ments were made for entertain
ing the 250 expected guests. '
Mrs. Ira Fitzgerald and Mrs.
Cliff Green reported on assist
ance, the Eagle Point club of
fered a newly organized roup
at Camp White. Thanks were
extended Mrs. William Perry
and Mrs. Cal Lusk for decorat
ing the chapel.
Butte Falls club invited Eagle
Point members to a picnic in
their town, July 19. Mrs. Law
rence Messal reported on a trip
to a recent state convention.
Next meeting of the Eagle
Point club will be a picnic to
be held August 3 in Ashland
park. Meat and. ice cream will
be provided. Luncheon will be
served at 12:30 p.m.

Convention News
Mrs. Chester Jines gave a re
port of the 8th International con
vention held at Wichita, Kan., of
the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority
during a meeting Wednesday of
Alpha Lambda chapter members.
Mrs. Robert Barbee, 197 Clover
lane, was hostess.
Mrs. Jines attended as a dele
gate from Oregon and was a can
didate for second vice-president.
She showed a copper work dis
play of Beta Epsilon chapter,
Portland, which won first prize
for the best study project dis
played at the convention. This
was the second time an Oregon
chapter has won such an award,
the revious award going to a
chapter in Pendleton.

for- a potluck picnic Monday,
July 11, at 6:30 p.m. in Lithia
park, in Ashland, instead of a
scheduled banquet. Those at
tending are asked to meet at the
zoo. .
Table service, sandwiches,
and a salad, hot dish, or dessert
are required. Coffee and iced tea
will be furnished.

ridge, of Talent.

for their wedding trip to Ft.
Campbell, Ky., where he is sta
tioned. He is a radio chief.
The bride's sisters, Mrs. E. O.
Graham, Jacksonville, and Mrs.
Donald Sanford, here from Sac
ramento, Calif., for the occasion,
were the attendants.
James Lee Roberts, a brother
of the bridegroom, was best man.
The bride wore a plain white
suit with navy blue accessories
and her corsage was an orchid.
Mr. Berriman gave his daughter
in marriage. Mrs. Graham and
Mrs. Sanford both wore navy
blue suits with white accessories
and their corsages were of white
carnations.
Baskets of snapdragons and
white daisies were used to dec
orate the altar.
The bride's mother was dressed
in lavender and the bridegroom's
mother wore a black dress. Both
had white accessories and Mrs.
Berriman's corsage was of white
carnations, while Mrs. Roberts
had red carnations. .
"The Medford hotel Rogue room
was scene of the reception. Mrs.
Byron V. Turner cut the cake
and Mrs. Bryant Sanford pre
sided at the punch bowl. Ar
rangements of snapdragons and
daisies decorated the room.
The bride is a graduate of the
Jacksonville high school and the
bridegroom is a . Central Point
high school graduate.
Miss Berriman was honored at
three events given by members
of the Royal Neighbors of Amer
ica lodge women; the Rebekah
lodge, and the hotel staff. She is
a member of both lodge groups.
The RNA members entertained
Tuesday, June 21, in the dining
hall of the IOOF hall. Mrs. San
ford, Mrs. A. E. Reinking, Mrs.
Arthur Davies and Mrs. Rupert
Maddox planned the event and
about 60 persons attended. Enter
tainment in the form of a skit
was furnished by Mrs. Davies,
Mrs. Maddox, Mrs. Joe . Smith
and Mrs. Sanford. Several vocal
selections were sung by the Mad
dox sisters. Table decorations
were made by Mrs. Reinking
who used blue candles with pink
rosebuds. '
The Rebekah lodge members,
with , about 20 in attendance,
gave a shower on June 6 when
Mrs. George Brownlee and Mrs.
Louis Jones made up the committee.
At both showers the bride was
given many presents.
The hotel staff presented Miss
Berriman a gift of luggage when
they gathered Wednesday, June
23, to honor their co-worker.
WCTU Groups Meet
Plan Convention
The Medford WCTU ex-com
mittee met at the home of Mrs.
M. Russell for a covered dish
luncheon recently. Mrs. Grey
Cox,' president, presided.
The group heard a talk by
the chairman of the projected
WCTU State Convention, to be
held in Medford in September,
on recent preparations for the
event. Attending thir conven
tion will be Mrs. Glenn Hayes,
Evanston, 111., president of the
national WCTU,- and Mrs. Fred
Tooze, president of the Oregon
WCTU.
At the meeting the group
planned a banquet, to be held
Sept. 7, opening day of the con
vention, at the First Methodist
church.

Mr. ' and Mrs. C. W. Babb,
Grants Pass, were in Medford
July 7 to celebrate their 60th
wedding anniversary at a dinner
given by Mr. BabbVbrother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. S. L.
Babb, 26 Lewis street.
The Babbs are former resi
dents of Medford, having lived
here from 1919 to 1923 when
Mr. Babb was in the real estate
business.
They were married July 7,
1895, in Midvale, Idaho. Mrs.
Babb is the former Miss Jennie
Illay Connally.
Pythian Club Meeting
Planned for Tuesday;
Social Evening Held
The Pythian club will meet
Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Girls'
Community club with Mrs. Har
ry Bryant and Mrs. George
Bryant as hostesses.
The Past Chiefs' club of the
Pythian Sisters met last Wednes
day at the home of Mrs. Harry
Barneburg with Mrs. Don An
derson as cohostess. A potluck
dinner was served, followed by
the business meeting and cards.
Prizes were won by Mrs. Harry,
Mrs. Dollie Love, Mrs. Ida Ire
land and Mrs. Delia Watkins.

the Grants Pass group. Chap
lain Albert Feller of Camp
White will speak on his work
with soldiers at Camp White and
Roseburg. Other topics of dis
cussion ' will be spiritual life,
speech contests, and the Chil
dren's Farm, home. A report
will be made by each group
president. Mrs. E. J. Gilstrap will
speak on her work in Medford.

The next regular meeting- of
the Pythian Sunshine Girls is
scheduled for Thursday, July 14,
at 1 p.m., at the Pythian build

The club held a party Thurs
