Talent Couple
Talent A four o'clock after
noon ceremony May 29, wedded
Miss Kary Ellen Suksdorf and
Terry Duane Burnette. The dou
ble ring rites were performed
by the Rev. Alice May Woolley
at Talent Methodist church.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Suksdorf,
route 1, box 41, Talent, and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. E. Burnette, Second
street. Talent.
The bride wore a white bal
lerina length dress. Her finger
tip veil was held in place by a
coronet of pearls and she car
ried a white Bible with pink
sweetheart rosebuds and lilies
of the valley.
Miss Lianis Burnette, a sister
of the bridegroom, was the hon-
or attendant. She wore a pink
ballerina length dress and car
ried a nosegay of Easter Reed
daisies and lavender sweet peas.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father, and Bill
Eagle was best man for the
bridegroom.
The bride's mother wore a
grey dress with white linen
duster and white accessories.
The bridegroom's mother was
dressed in a pink suit with white
accessories and both wore cor
sages of gardenias.
Bill Reichstein and Brent Win
ston were ushers. Miss Marlyn
Suksdorf had charge of the guest
book., Mrs. Albert Gandt sang
and Mrs. Gertrude Starmer fur
nished the accompaniment.
The reception was held in the
church rooms after the ceremony.
Mrs. Veiva Saltmarsh served
the cake and Mrs. Walter Her
man poured the punch.
The bridegroom is serving
with the Air Force and Is sta
tioned at San Angelo, Tex.,
where the couple plan to live.
Camp, Auxiliary
To Meet Sunday
Colonel Sergeant camp and
auxiliary, United Spanish War
Veterans, will hold meetings in
Redman hall, Sunday, June 19.
A potluck dinner will be served
at 1 p.m. Mrs. Hans Rammin is
chairman of a "white elephant"
sale and members are asked to
take articles for this.
This will be their last meet
ing until the third Sunday in
October. Mrs. James Cech, auxil
iary president, states that the
final plan for a skit, to be given
at the department convention in
Bend in July, will be made. She
asks officers and colors to prac
tice at Redman hall Saturday,
June 18, at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Josephine Widner, dinner
chairman asks members to call
her at 2-2225 about plans for
the dinner.

Polings Observe Anniversary
At Open House Last Sunday
Mr. and Mrs. J. O. N. Poling
held open house Sunday, June
5, in observance of their fort
ieth wedding anniversary. Mr.
Poling married the former Nellie
Vincent in Phillipsburg, Kansas,
on June 8, 1915. In 1920 the Pol
ings moved to Oregon, and have
lived since in their present home
on Route 3.
Approximately fifty friends
called during the afternoon. Mrs.
Eloise Winklebeck, accompanied
by Mrs. Mabel Sims at the piano,
and Mrs. George Carpenter, ac
companied by Mrs. A. V. Thomp
son, entertained with vocal selec
tions. Mrs. Elmer Gott presented
a reading.
Out-of-town guests included
Mrs. Poling's ' brother and his
wifrMF. nd Mrs. Albert C.
Vincent from Tigard, Oregon.
Mrs. Vincent presided over the
punch table. The Poling's daugh
ter, Mrs. Roger Lawrence,
served the cake. The Lawrences
came fram Bremerton, Washing
ton for the occasion. Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Van Gordon of
Grants Pass also attended.
Assisting about the rooms
were Mrs. Lucian Van Gordon,
and Mrs. Nick R. DeWitt, the
Polings' other daughters, both
of Medford. Judith Van Gordon
took charge of the guest book,
and Leslie Kay Van Gordon and
Kathleen DeWitt helped at the
gift table.

Rasmussen - Stafford Rites
Held Here; Couple in Eugene
Mr. and Mrs.' Donald Duane Rasmussen are living at Eugene
after their wedding May 27 at the Medford Assembly of God
church and a trip to the Oregon coast The bride is the former
Miss Mildred Loraine Stafford of Dunsmuir, Calif., daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. A. H. Stafford of that city. The bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Rasmussen, 308 Garfield street.

In Medford
Wed Couple
Honey Fern Franz became the
bride of Robert George Daniel
son in afternoon rites read at
three o'clock June 4 at First
Methodist church. Dr. Raymond
Balcomb performed the double
ring ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H. S. Gilmer, 831 Park
street, and the bridgroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dan-
ielson of Corning, Calif. Mr.
and Mrs. Danielson came north
for the wedding.
The bride given in marriage
by her father, wore a frock of
white polished cottion with aqua
blue accessories. Her flowers
were a lie of pikake blossoms
and white orchids.
Mrs. William Deatherage,
matron of honor, wore a pink
and white redingote dress and
her corsage was a lavender or
chid surrounded by small hy
brid orchids. Mothers of the
bride and bridegroom also wore
leis made from orchids.
Mr. Deatherage, a former clas
mate of the bridegroom, was
best man.
The altar was decorated with
antherium and ti leaves. Flowers
for the occasion were sent from
Hawaii by a sister of the bride
groom, Miss Harriet Danielson.
The reception was held at
Rogue Valley Country club and
the couple made their wedding
trip to the Oregon coast.
They will live at Canyonville
where the bridegroom is prac
ticing law. He recently was
graduated from the University
of Oregon school of law and also
attended Oregon State college
and Canyonville schools.
The bride attended Grants
Pass high school and was study
ing at Southern Oregon college
before her marriage.
Also from out of town for the
wedding were Mr. and Mrs. C.
A. Hanson, Grants Pass.
Soprano Leaves
After Visit Here
Miss Jean Farley left Friday
after visiting for a month with
her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Ken
neth Farley, Jacksonville high
way. She arrived here from San
Francisco, where for several
years she has been employed
and has been studying voice.
From here she went to Los
Angeles to enroll at the Univer
sity of California, Los Angeles,
to further her study and work
toward an advanced degree in
music. Miss Farley, a lyric so
prano, is a graduate of the Col
lege of the Pacific at Stockton,
Calif.
Last Thursday evening she
entertained friends and other
patrons at Mon Desir 'dining inn
by singing groups of songs
throughout the evening. Among
those at the inn for the occasion
were Mr. and Mrs. Royal Bebb
and a group of their friends.
Mrs. Bebb, voice and piano tea
cher, was Miss Farley's first
vocal instructor.

formed in candlelight at 8 o'clock
in the ' evening. The Rev. F.
Wildon Colbaugh read the double
ring rites.
Mr. Stafford gave his daughter
m marriage. Her dress of nylon
net was trimmed with lace in
serts and was styled with a hoop
skirt. A headpiece of rhinestones
and lace held her fingertip
length veil and she carried a
bouquet of stephanotis centered
with a white orchid.
Mrs. Ross Hollar, Sacramento,
Calif., the matron of honor, wore
a blue nylon net gown and her
bouquet was of pink carnations.
Miss Carol McKinley, the brides
maid, wore- a gown which
matched the one worn by the
honor attendant. She also car
ried pink carnations.
Miss Virginia Dickerson, Duns
muir, and Miss Esther Wheeler,
Roseville, Calif., who lighted
the candles, wore pink net gowns
with white carnation corsages.
Decorations were of pink rose
buds and ivy on a trellis. The
same trellis had been used at
the wedding of the bride's sister,
Mrs. Don Kahl, 10 years pre
viously. Baskets of white stock
and snapdragons with candel
abra wer,e used in the back
ground. Mrs. Leo Nylander fur
nished songs and Miss Sunny
Wiest was the accompanist.
About 150 guests attended the
reception which was held in the
church annex.-
For the occasion the bride's
mother wore a white afternoon
dress with navy blue figures
and her stole and accessories
were white. The bridegroom's
mother wore a white dress with
black polka dots. Her stole was
black and accessories white and
both wore gardenia corsages,
Miss Hazel Hanson registered
the guests and Mrs. Delbert Staf
ford, Dunsmuir, a sister-in-law,
cut and served the cake. Mrs.
Jerry Leslie, Phoenix, a sister
of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Rob
ert Rasmussen, a sister-in-law,
poured the punch.
In 'charge of the gifts were
Mrs. Douglas Dawson and Mrs.
Kahl. sisters of the bride
Out-of-town guests included
Mrs. George Trask, aunt of the
bride, Myrtle Creek; Mr. and
Mrs. Dale Hoskins and daughter,
Joann, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Dickerson and son, David, Miss
Barbara Vose, Mrs. John Hardy
and daughter, Loretta, Mrs,
Sverre Landoe and Harold M.
Kahl, all of Dunsmuir, Calif., and
Mr. Hollar from Sacramento.
The bride has been employed
as a clerk-typist at the McClellan
Air Force base at Sacramento
and the bridegroom is a car
penter employed by Ivan P. Ed-
wards contractor. She attended
Canyonville Bible academy and
the bridegroom attended Med
ford Senior High school.

Esther Wesleyan Service guild
of First Methodist church.

Summer Award
Central Point Miss Linda
Obenchain, Central Point, fresh
man at Oregon State college,
was selected to receive, the Dan
forth summer fellowship award
for freshmen women, it was an
nounced last week at a - home
economics awards convocation
at the college. Miss Sally Ann
Hornecker of Cornelius was
awarded the summer fellowship
for a junior woman.
Miss Obenchain and Miss
Hornecker will spend two weeks
at a leadership training campi
on Lake Michigan the first two
weeks in August. The awards
were made at the fourth annual
luncheon honoring senior wo
men in Home Economics, and is
sponsored by the Home Econom
ics club at Oregon State college.
The Danforth awards are given
by Mr. Danforth of the Ralston
Purina Mills.
