with a ferbam spray program
resulted in increased yields of
U.S. No. 1 apples in a Hudson
Valley orchard.
The program included eight
different treatments with lead
arsenate as the basic insecticide.
All were equally effective in con
trolling scab, according to a re
port just released by the New
York state agricultural experi
ment station here.
An all - season program of fer
bam fungicides proved safest
and resulted in the highest
yields and best fruit quality.
Cost per box also was the
highest with this program, but
the increased production . of
U.S. No. 1 apples justified the
added expense.

by such work and by Water Commis
