ters of the American Revolu
tion, held the April meeting Sat
urday at the home of Mrs. Glenn
Schneider on East Main street.
The theme of the meeting was
"Patriotism in Music." The pro
gram of American music was
arranged by Mrs. V. J. Bolton to
emphasize the fact that there is
school of music peculiarly
American. She introduced Mrs.
Otto Frohnmeyer, who acted as
pianist and narrator. Miss Betty
Latfey and James Baker sang
many numbers appropriate to
the theme.
Hostess was Mrs. E. Ronald
Rice assisted by Mesdames Carl
Oestreich, Glenn Schneider and
William W. P. Holt.
Mrs. D. O. Hood, member of
Crater Lake chapter and second
vice-regent of the Oregon DAR
society, attended the first three
days of the recent week-long
convention of the national so
ciety held in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Hood was present for a
luncheon meeting of delegates
and representatives of the north'
west chapters. Douglas McKay,
4 secretary of the interior from
Oregon, was speaker.
Mr. and Mrs. Hood also at
tended the. national defense
meeting which was on the con
vention program. Seated with the
Oregon delegation for that event
were Congressman and Mrs. Har
ris Ellsworth. Speaker was Paul
Harvey. Mrs. Albert Powers,
Coos Bay, state DAR regent,
headed the Oregon delegation of
15 members.
Prior to the convention the
Hoods had attended a meeting
of the United States Independent
Telephone association, of which
Mr. Hood is a national director.
The convention was held at Bel
Aire, Fla., after its close, the
Hoods accompanied a group of
executives and wives who flew
to Puerto Rico and Havana,
Cuba. Returning to the United
States, the travelers visited in
Charleston, S.C., and in North
Carolina before going to Wash
ington. Guild to Meet
Westminsters guild will meet
Monday, May 2, at 7:45 p m. in
the Fireplace room of First
Presbyterian church. Mrs. D.
Kirkland West, wife of the pas
tor of the church, will speak.
All business women are cor
dially invited to attend.
Oregon Council
Of Sisterhood
Plans Luncheon
Thirteen chapters will be
represented at a meeting of
Southern Oregon council of the
PEO sisterhood tomorrow. The
luncheon and meeting are set for
12:30 at Rogue Valley Country
club. Chapters in this council
include Klamath Falls, Ashland,
Grants Pass, Roseberg and Med
ford. Mrs. Leland Linn, Ashland, is
president; Miss Alma Frerichs,
Grants Pass, vice-president and
Mrs. G. C. Findley, Roseberg,
secretary-treasurer.
Maypoles and sprint; flowers
will decorate the tables, and the
double trio of First, Methodist
Church will entertain. Hostess
Chapter is CP of Medford.

A dinner was planned at a
meeting of the newly organized
Milk Producers League auxil
iary held Tuesday noon at the
Jackson hotel. Mrs. Richard
Westerberg, vice-president, pre
sided. The dinner, a Dairy Foods fes
tival event, will be held June 1.
Each member will be asked to
take a dish using one or more
dairy products for this event.
Glen H. Lay, executive secre
tary of the Oregon Dairy Prod
ucts commission will be a guest
speaker for a meeting Tuesday,
May 17, at the Jackson hotel.
