Performed at Temple Church
Central Point An event of Easter Sunday was the wedding
of Miss Charlene Dee Croucher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M.
Croucher, route 1, Central Point, to Douglas Kirk Kimmons, son
of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Kimmons, route 1, Central Point.
The Rev. Floyd Yeats per
formed the double, ring cere
mony at 3 o'clock in the after
noon at the Temple Baptist
church, Medford. About 250
guests attended the ceremony
and the reception which also was
held at the church.
The bride's gown was ballerina
length of white imported lace
over satin. Her fingertip veil
was of illusion net held by a
white cap edged with seed pearls

In a home ceremony April 14,
Miss Viola Irene Peterson be
came the bride of Gerald Ray
McComb, the event taking place
at the residence of the bride's
uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph S. Madden, 905 Jasper
street.
The rites were read by the
Rev. D. E. Millard before the
fireplace which was decorated
with pink carnations and white
stock with lighted tapers in
candelabra.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Orval H. Peter
son of Briceland, Calif., where
they moved about seven months
ago from Eagle Point. The bride
in the meantime has made her
home with an aunt, Mrs. Keith
E. Williams at route. 2, box 366,
Medford.
The bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Vern Helbig of
Rogue River.
Following the graduation of
the bridegroom from the Butte
Falls high school in May the
young couple will go to Brice
land where he will be employed
and where they will make their
home.
The bride wore a light gray
tweed suit with white "acces
sories and her flowers were a
corsage of white carnations.
Mrs. William Harris, a sister
of the bridegroom, was matron
of honor. She wore a navy
blue suit with white accesso
ries.
Mrs. S. R. Kelly was the can
dle lighter. '
Mr. Madden served as best
man.
The reception was held at
the Madden home and .after the
bride and bridegroom made the
traditional first slice of the wed
ding cake the serving was con
tinued by Mrs. Williams. 'Mrs.
Kelly and Mrs. Madden served
the punch. Miss Arlene Stephen
son had charge of the bride's
book. . .

Lance C. Dodson, son of Dr.
and Mrs. A. E. Dodson, former
Medford residents, has been
pledged to an honorary pre
medical fraternity, the Alpha
Epsilon Delta fraternity. He is
predental student with a major
in chemistry at the University
of Nevada, and is a sophomore.
The Dodsons now live at Blue
Diamond, Nev.

to the altar. '
Mrs. Fred Lyon, aunt of the
bride, was matron of honor. She
wore a gown of brown net over
taffeta with beige lace bodice
embroidered with sequins. Her
flowers were pink carnations
with daisies '
Miss Joan Russell and Miss
Lorraine Croucher, the latter a
cousin of the bride, were the
bridesmaids. Miss. Russell s
gown was yellow and Miss
Crouchers aqua blue. Both were
of net over taffeta. They car
ried bouquets of pink carnations
with daisies.
Miss Sandra Croucher, a sister
of the bride, and Miss Sharon
Lyqn, a cousin, lighted the can
dles. Their dresses were of
matching pink nylon.
Pamela Lyon, dressed in blue
nylon was flower girl for her
cousin. Dwight McGonagle, also
a cousin of the bride, was ring
bearer.
Warren Kimmons was best
man for his cousin.
The ushers were Charles Find-
ley and Bert Simmons.
The bride's mother wore
navy blue polka dot afternoon
dress with navy and pink acces
sories. The bridegroom s mother
wore an afternoon dress of rose
print with black and white ac
cessories.
Mrs. Norman Carothers , was
soloist for the wedding accom
panied by Mrs. H. D. Kimmons
Miss Sarah Lincoln of Grants
Pass played a flute solo before
the ceremony and Floyd Yeats
Jr. furnished the wedding music.
The church was decorated
with palms and ferns with yel
low and white daffodils, spirea
and forsythia.
Mrs. Una McGonagle, ' the
bride s grandmother, cut the
wedding cake for the reception,
assisted by Mrs. Lyons. Mrs.
Kenneth Weaver, Mrs. Leon
Croucher and Mrs. Monroe Mc
Gonagle, aunts of the bride,
poured the coffee and punch
Miss Tamara Joe Croucher, the
bride's sister, had charge of the
guest book.
The bridal couple traveled by
way of the Grand Canyon and
the painted desert to Columbus
Ind., where Mr. Kimmons is sta
tioned with the Air Force. Both
attended' Crater high school in
Central Point and the bride was
a student at the Southern Ore
gon college. She also was em
ployed at the J. C. Penney store,
The bridegroom is an airman
first class and is a crew chief.
Here from out of town for
the wedding were Mr. and Mrs
Warren Kimmons, cousins of the
bridegroom, from Oak Harbor,
Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Findley of Roseburg. Also here
for the occasion were Mr. and
Mrs. George Garris and Linda,
Mrs. W. A. Laudermilch, David
and Manbeth, Mr. and Mrs. Dick
Blevins, Mrs. Roy East and the
Misses Eleanor Jo East, Doralice
Garris, Shirley Francis, and Sue
Anderson, all of Grants Pass.

Shady Cove; The banquet will
be served at 6:45 p.m., at the
Elks club lounge.

Mrs. Charles R. Cooley of
Grants Pass. Mr. Cooley , is a
past member of the board of
director s, past district governor
and past president and a past
president of the Grants pass
club.' A large group of Grants
Pass Rotary and Rotary Ann
members also plan to be here.
Highlight of : the inter-city
meeting will be a round robin
radio broadcast which will tie
together nine inter-city meetings
around the state. More than
2,000 Rotarians and their wives
and guests will participate in
the meetings.
After the - state-wide broad
cast musical entertainment and
dancing" will be diversions of the
evening. The dance music is to
begiii at 10 p.m. and continue
to midnight. ' f

Mystery Model
To Be Feature
Of May Party i
"Who will the mystery modei
be?" This question is buzzing
through the minds of Kiwanian
Dames members as they prepare
for their annual May party-to be
held Monday, May 2, at Rogue
Valley Country club.
Committee members have her
identity veiled in secrecy, and
they aren't telling anyone. The
mystery model feature1 of the
party has intrigued guests in
past years, and those attending
will be allowed to guess who she
is. A prize is awarded for those
who guess correctly. It is said
that the mystery model will be
someone well known to Medford
residents. -
Others modeling will be Mrs.
John Dellenback, Mrs. R. W.
Field, Mrs. Ed Barnett, Mrs. E.
Ron Rice, Mrs. Thomas C. Ander
son, Mrs. Paul Selby, Mrs. Del
Wright, Mrs. Merle E. Toland
and Miss Margaret Selby.
Stores participating are Burel
son's and Neediecraft of Med
ford, with fashions for children,
teenagers and women to be
shown. In the group will be both
Junior Size dresses, and dresses
for the more mature figure.
Special emphasis will be placed
on teen-age dreses for commence
ment and baccaloureate exer
cises. -
Luncheon will be served at
12:30 p.m., with the fashion show
and playing of cards to follow.
Those wishing to attend but un
able to stay for the playing of
cards are requested to mention
this when making their reserva
tions. Reservations may be made
now by calling direct to the
Country Club. It is advisable to
telephone for reservations as
early as possible, as seating is
limited and a number of reserva
tions have already been received,
the committee states.

On Anniversary
The 30th anniversary of the
Medford Lions club will be
observed Monday, April 25, at
a 7 o'clock dinner to be held at
the Tally Ho Dining room, Tal
ent. Speaker for the event will
be L. W. Thatcher, Salt Lake
City, chairman of the board of
governors for Lions Internation
al. Members of .the club and
l
their wives will attend.
The speaker was elected chair
man during the 1954 Interna
tional convention of the clubs
held in New York City in addi
tion to serving his own club in
various offices he has held dis
trict offices of zone chairman,
deputy district governor and
district governor. Mr. Thatcher
is a key member and holds the
merit award, outstanding serv
ice award and the 100 per cent
district governor's award. .
The speaker also is a member
of the National Sales Managers
Executive club, is assistant man
ager of the Wasatch Chemical
company, and a graduate of the
Latter Day Saints university.
He is a member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints and fulfilled a mission to
Germany for his church from
1928 to 1930. .

Jacksonville Miss Simonne
Petard, Jacksonville, is to leave
by plane April 25 for France
where she will visit for. about
three months. Miss' Petard will
visit in several French cities in
cluding Paris. She is the daugh
ter of Auguste Petard, Jackson
ville, and the late Mrs. Petard.
At Colombes she will visit her
uncle, Lucian Pousseur, and his
family, Mr. Pousseur being a
brother to Miss' Petard's mother.
In Paris she will visit a cousin,
Peter Pousseur? and his family.
In Brittany "Miss Petard will
see relatives of her father, visit
ing mainly at Nantes.
The traveler for several years
has been employed at the Ameri
can Laundry offices as a book
keeper. She is being replaced
there by Mrs. Lloyd Whitney of
Jacksonville.

The bridegroom is the son of

The bride was graduated from
Ashland High school in 1951.
The bridegroom was graduated
from Medford High school in
1947 and served two years with
the U. S. Navy and two years
with the U. S. Array. Nineteen
months was spent with U. S.
Army occupation forces in
France. He is employed by the
Elk Lumber company.
Prior to the wedding the
bride was honored at parties
given b her sister, Mrs. M. J.
Wiggins, Central Point, and by
her aunt, Mrs. George Brownlee,
Jacksonville highway.
The young couple made a
wedding trip to Crescent City.
Calif. They are now at home at
