today, proved to be better vote
getters than their rivals in the
annual NHL AU-Star balloting.
The Canadiens placed three
men, including fire-brand Mau
rice Richard, on the first team
while the Red Wings were rep
resented only by defenseman
Red Kelly.

fenseman Doug Harvey were
the other Montreal players who
gained first team berths. Round
ing ouc the top squad are left
wing Sid Smith and goalie Harry

Commercial Bowling League

Washington nabbed one div:

total in the annual all-city grade
school track and field , meet
which saw four , records broken
and one tied.
Roosevelt, with . 94 14 counters
wasn't far behind Washington in
total score, also winning a divi
sion and deadlocking with the
meet victors in the other; The
Roosevelt thinclads also won the
medley relay. Jackson and Lin
coln each tallied 3534.
Victor in Class A was Roose
velt .with '2414. Other scores
were Washington 20V4, Jackson
19V4 and Lincoln 19V4. Washing
ton and Roosevelt each picked
up 40 in Class B. Jackson got 6
and Lincoln 5. In Class C Wash
ington had 39 to 30 for Roose
velt while Lincoln had HVa'and
Jackson IOV2.
220 Marks Tumbls
The 220-yard run record fell
in two classes yesterday as Mon
roe, Roosevelt, zipped the dis
tance in :29.4 in Class B gnd
Lowry-raced the Class C event
in :29.8. Hamilton, Jackson, had
run the B race in :29.5 last year
while Monroe had a 1954 mark
of :30.9 competing in C.
The Class B 220 relay club
from Washington, Ayres; Elkins,
Davis and Ragsdale, .: romped
through that event in :28.8. The
eld mark was :28.9 set in 1952
and equalled in that year and in
1953. Mclntyre Roosevelt, leap
ed 15 feet 8 inches in the' Class
B broad jump to ' eclipse ' the
15-3V2 standard set by Cabler,
Washington, in 1952.
Mclntyre, also tied his 1954
mark in the 60-yard dash in his
B division with a :07.9 effort.
