Mullin-Thoreson Wedding
Held in Methodist Church
Talent An afternoon ceremony Sunday, March 20, wedded
Miss Gayle Jeannine Thoreson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
V. Thoreson, 113 South First street, in Talent, and Donald Garry
Mullin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Mullin, 209 South Orange
street, Medford. The ceremony took place at First Methodist church
in Medford. Dr. Raymond E. Balcomb read the double ring cere
mony at 3 o'clock, and about 175 guests attended.
Floral decorations for tne
ceremony and the reception
were of white gladiolus, red
and white roses and carnations.
Prelude music was furnished
by Mrs. Charles Adamson, or
ganist, and Glen Lamb, soloist.
The bride wore a gown of
chantilly lace over pleated ny
lon tulle and satin, designed
with close fitting bodice, and
lace paneled skirt. The train
was of matching lace and tulle
panels. Her fingertip veil was
held by a headpice of lace and
pearls. She carried a bouquet of
white carnations with red rose
buds on a heart of white satin.
Miss Bonnie Leeper was maid
of honor and the bridesmaids
were the Misses Carol Coghill,
Verlee Zemke and Nancylee Ol
son. Miss Gwen Stephens, a
cousin of the bride, was a ju
nior bridesmaid. They wore
princess style ballerina frocks
of white flocked nylon over red
taffeta. Their headbands and
bouquets were of red carnations.
Best man was Donald Schnei
der. Seating the guests were
Gordon Thoreson, a brother of
the bride, Norman Loop and
Frank McKeown Jr., of Seattle,
Wash. The ringbearer was Dale
Metzger, a nephew of the bride
groom. Melody Mullin, a niece of
the bride, and Susie Cooper, a
cousin of the bride, were the
flower girls. Their dresses were
of red nylon organdy and their
headpieces were of white carna
tions. Lighting the candle3 were
Miss Nancy Coghill and Miss
Rose Murray who wore red bal
lerina length gowns and wrist
lets of white carnations.

with black and white accessor

Thoreson, grandmother of the
bride, cut the wedding cake.

groom served the punch.

was Miss Betty Ann Taylor, and

The couple made their wed
ding trip to San Francisco and
after Easter Sunday will be at
home at Twenty-nine Palms
Calif., where the bridegroom is
stationed with the Marine corps.

Farewell Party
Given by Sorority
For Mrs. Wilson
Members of Epsilon Sigma Al
pha sorority met at the home of
Miss Dolores Lee, Loring court,
March 28 to hold a farewell par
ty for Mrs. Donald Wilson, who
is leaving Medford soon to make
her home in Tacoma, Wash. Mrs.
Wilson was presented a jeweled
pin in a traditional candlelight
ceremony and was also given a
farewell gift by her sorority sis
ters. A short business meeting was
held to discuss the state conven
tion to be held next month in
Eugene, and delegates were ap
pointed. .
Reports on the Easter seal
campaign were presented and
Mrs. Chester Peterson, chairman
of the Lily Day parade, desig
nated committees to assist with
this nroiect.
Refreshments were served by
the hostess and a social hour was
enjoyed.

Captain, Family
Visit in Medford
Capt. and Mrs. James K. Hoey
and small daughter, Barbara,
arrived Friday night by plane
from Tokyo, Japan, where the
officer has been on duty for al
most three years. He is with an
Army ordinance unit.
The visitors will spend the
next few weeks with Captain
Hoey's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
James K. Hoey, 48 Quince street.

tired) and Mrs. Pullen are to
arrive, also from San Rafael, for
a visit witti the Towns. Mr. Pul
len is headmaster for the boys'
school. On the same day Mrs.
B. A. Gillies, San Diego, Calif.,
plans to fly her plane here and
will be houseguest at the Towns.
She is a sister of Mrs. Town.

ter president, at her home in

Those honored were Mrs. Max

languages in Medford Senior
High school, a new vice-president
of the department of classroom
teachers; Miss Florence Allen,
principal of Lincoln school in
Ashland, who was elected a vice
president of the department of
higher education; Mrs. Ivah D.
Murray, former third grade
teacher of Jackson school, presi
dent of the Retired Teachers de
partment; Mrs. Ruth McCollister,
formerly of Epsilon chapter, and
a former teacher of history at
Medford Junior High school, a
vice-president of the RTD; and
Miss Ethel Reid, former teacher
of mathematics and English at
the Ashland Junior High school,
secretary-treasurer of the RTD.

18 at Medford Friends' church.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.

the bridegroom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Milford R. Archi

read on the 30th anniversary of
the bridegroom's parents, was
performed by Clynton Crisman,

The newlyweds spent their
honeymoon in Portland and Van

Falls. Both were graduated
from Medford High school in

mony held Sunday, March 13.
The Rev. Gerald Gear of Com
munity Methodist church per
formed the service at the home
of the bride's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. L. Malone, 835 Fourth
avenue.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gray,
Route 1, Box 513, Gold Hill.
. Miss Blossom Governor was
maid of honor for the bride and
Leroy Waterhouse was best man.

and Mrs. Nancy Sullinger, Med
ford, lifelong friend of the
bridegroom.
A reception followed the
wedding.
The newlyweds are living at
457 Fourth street, Central Point,
where the bridegroom is a stu
dent at Crater High school.
Keens Return
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Keen,
who spent : the past several
weeks in Ensenada, Mexico, re
turned to their home at 206 Lin
coln street last week. Mrs. Keen,
who is on the faculty of Jackson
school will return to work
Monday.

Thelma Inlow and Melvern Boyd
Stanislawski. The ceremony was
read at 1:30 o'clock in the after
noon with close relatives of the
couple as guests. The Rev. Mr.
Garner is the pastor of the Full
Gospel Tabernacle, nondenom
inational church.

will return to his station April
10, at the close of his leave. He
recently returned from a 16
month tour of duty in Korea.

with her son-in-law and daugh

a daughter, their first child,
born March 7. The child weighed
sixa pounds and 15 ounces and
has been named' Maryann Kath
leen. Mrs. Piper is the former
Donna May Thomas.
