CRUSADER CHOIR Members of the Northwest Nazarene Crusader choir, shown above, will
present a sacred music concert today at 8 p.m., in the Medford Church of the Nazarene, Holly and
First sts. Religious classics, Negro spirituals and hymns are on the program.. Vocal and. instru
mental ensembles will be presented with the choir and soloists will include one sung by the
director, Warnie T. Tippett, tenor. Double E. Hill, pianist, Elaine Carlson, organist, accompany
the choir. Dr. John E. Riley, president of the college, will speak after the concert. The choir
travels by chartered bus and is now on a tour of Oregon and Washington cities. The public is
invited.

'All Church Day'
The Church of. the Nazarene
has designated Palm Sunday as
"All Church Day" in the various
activities of the Sabbath. In the
worship hour at 10:50 a. m., new
members will be received, and
a service of dedication of infants
will be observed.
The Sanctuary choir will pre
sent Faure's "The Palms" and Ed
Taylor, minister of music, will
sing. The Rev. R. W.. Hum will
speak on the Palm Sunday
theme, "When Jesus Came."
In the Sunday school hour at
9:45 a. m., the Nazarenes will
hold a rally in a final day of
a current district school contest.
An attendance goal of 525 has
been set. At the Adult chapter

Free Methodists
Slate Missionary
Miss Geneva Sayre, Portland,
furloughing missionary from
Formosa, will speak Sunday, af
11 a. m., at the Free Methodist
church, 10th and Ivy sts.
Miss Sayre, at one time a pris
oner of the Communists in China,
has served two years as mission
ary on the island of Formosa.
She spent many years in
China, serving as evangelist,
teacher and medical worker in
the cities of Kihsien, Kaifeng
and Chengchow in Honan Prov
ince. When the Japanese invad
ed China, she was interned for
nearly two years and the last
six months of her internment
were spent in a large Japanese
concentration camp.
In 1946 Miss Sayre returned
to the Free Methodist Mission
in Honan province, but in the
fall of 1948 the Communists
gained full control of Honan and
some time later she was placed
under arrest.
Upon her release she went to
Hong Kong, where she served
about six months in a camp of
20,000 refugees who had fled
from Communist China. In 1952
she proceeded to Formosa to
begin Free Methodist mission
work there.
She brings with her Koda
chrome slides and moving pic
tures. All are invited to hear
